MPC #96 - Portrait, as pertains to orientation Dec 14 - Dec 28

    Happy feeling achieved.

This is not about taking portraits, but those are A-OK. This is about taking images in portrait orientation, ie. vertical.

This is completely open to content. This is strictly about capturing any scene you want in a vertical format. I came to think of this due to a recent webinar given by our very own Adam Barker. He stressed taking shots of every location in both landscape and portrait mode. Testing yourself to see something differently. I very rarely shoot in portrait mode and it really made me think. So if you do a lot, this is right up your alley. If you don't, maybe this will be a good learning experience for you and us all.

I challenge you to maybe shoot something vertically that you would normally think of shooting in landscape, but that is not a necessity. This is accessible to everyone from phone shooters to professional DSLR shooters.

    RULES:
    1. Photos must be taken within the time period of the contest.
    2. You may submit 3 photos during the competition.
    3. The contest moderator will choose 5 photos to be voted on.
    4. The winner will get a happy feeling in his/her pants. (That is a rule by the way, not an option.)
    5. In the event of a tie, the contest moderator will have the deciding vote.
    6. Winner will be the contest starter/moderator for the next comp.
    7. The winner has 3 days to start a new contest or 2nd place becomes the new winner.

    HAPPY CLICKING!

1- cool thing about this is that my smaller lens is buggered so i had to use the 50-200, which required that i go portrait to get the scene, and then the nacho hopped in at the top of the frame. come home to find portrait is the mpc

VT-F is right, strong competition.... nice stuff!

Not really a serious contender, but worth noting. My next door neighbor, Ivan Massar, photojournalist, standing front of his favorite print from Paris in 1949, at a show this weekend. Very interesting person and a fascinating photographic career:
