    MPC #30 [Old&New] - March 12 - March 26

Since I was last contest's winner, I will be running this contest. The rules are below and the theme is:

    Old & New

    -----------------------------------------------------------

THE CONTEST WILL BE RUNNING FROM MARCH 12- MARCH 26!

    Good Luck!!!

    -----------------------------------------------------------

    The Rules:

    1. Photos must be taken within the time period of the contest.

    2. You may submit 3 photos during the competition.

    3. The contest moderator will choose 5 of the photos to put in a poll for the mags to vote on and decide the winner.

    4. The winner will get a happy feeling in his/her pants. (That is a rule by the way not an option)

    5. In the event of a tie, the contest moderator will have the deciding vote.

    6. Winner will be the contest starter/moderator for the next comp.

    7. The winner has 3 days to start a new contest or 2nd place becomes the new winner.

I was thinking just run with it. Generally speaking, I'd be looking for shots that show some contrast between "old" and "new" using whatever subjects are selected and/or whatever interpretation the photographer wants to apply around what exactly "old" and "new" mean.

Not sure if that's any clearer?

I'll play. Could be some good shots submitted for this one...

since that last photo I shot was triptych, I am not sure if it counts for 3 or just one. In any case, I think I will put up another one. Feel free to disqualify it.

Nice. First one that fits the theme, IMHO, which I understand to be a juxtaposition between old and new.

    Well played SE Maggot!
Be careful about buying snowboard goggles for skiing. Snowboard goggles come in right eye and left eye (for goofy-footers) dominant models. This can make it hard to see correctly when skiing because you are facing straight down the hill, not sideways.

I think Doc's is also a decent interpretation of the theme, more of a new from old

I was waiting for the first old/new ski comparison, as that's something half this board would easily have nearby.

I don't know guys, give single some cred here, he's shooting modern day scenes in an old fashioned style (btw single, how the fuggg did you do that 2nd one? crazy post processing? Lightroom? Photoshop? TEACH ME!). And the Doc is a color master imho. I really haven't found any inspiration at all myself with this theme yet...

^^^ I really like those three, the fly is especially unique. My first thought for this contest was plant life related too which seems pretty played out at this point. Ima get back in the think tank.

I was looking forward to what would come of this theme, and I have not been disappointed.

I'm not a photographer, but I've been following the MPCs from the start. There's some serious talent here. I especially like the shot above of blood on rock.
