or Wiki:

Tranquillity is the quality of calm experienced in places with mainly natural features and activities, free from disturbance from man-made areas.

RULES:
1. Photos must be taken within the time period of the contest.
2. You may submit 3 photos during the competition.
3. The contest moderator will choose 5 photos to be voted on.
4. The winner will get a happy feeling in his/her pants. (That is a rule by the way, not an option.)
5. In the event of a tie, the contest moderator will have the deciding vote.
6. Winner will be the contest starter/moderator for the next comp.
7. The winner has 3 days to start a new contest or 2nd place becomes the new winner.

I went for a great foggy redwood forest hike early Saturday ... but had such a good time with the lady friend that the camera stayed in the pack the whole morning, doh!

I want to start contributing to these more frequently. My technique is admittedly lacking and I'm sure I did more editing than I should have, but my (wife's) equipment is decent and I think my subject here is appropriate so I figured I'd give it a shot. Critiques welcome as I'm definitely in the beginning stages of learning this.

I spent the weekend camped at 10k feet on Magic Bristlecone Mountain, it was pretty tranquil, other than the steady 20mph winds and 34 degree temps. But Johnny Walker Red and his cousin PBR kept us nice and warm.


The view out over Bishop was nice

The first in that collection of the milky way over mono lake: Did you burn a sunset pic and a night time separately or is that looking north with the immense glow of the metropolis of bridgeport?
