    MPC #56 Night (10/8-10/22)

    Theme is Night. (10/8-10/22)

Outdoor photographs shot after dusk and before dawn. I'm leaning toward longer exposures but if you are in a city and it's lit up, faster speeds are all good.

    RULES:
    1. Photos must be taken within the time period of the contest.
    2. You may submit 3 photos during the competition.
    3. The contest moderator will choose 5 photos to be voted on.
    4. The winner will get a happy feeling in his/her pants. (That is a rule by the way, not an option.)
    5. In the event of a tie, the contest moderator will have the deciding vote.
    6. Winner will be the contest starter/moderator for the next comp.
    7. The winner has 3 days to start a new contest or 2nd place becomes the new winner.

I don't know...I think Lane and Lonnie, at a minimum, will be tough to beat.

Ah, the best of both world's. 3% tonight > full on the 22nd, should throw some light a few days before full

Sorry Lonnie, but I see water and clouds-you scored. Nice shots in POTD! Mind if I ask which Park the kiva is in? Looks like Canyonlands.

None are eligible, but I thought I'd toss 'em in here any way...

You probably can't see it here, but there was a deer standing in the field for part of this exposure. I can see him in PS if I zoom in...pretty wild. I never noticed him until he moved. Super stealth.

    one more..

^ Damn, patxi, that would have gotten my vote.

I'll try to put up some eligible ones later today. Some ineligible ones in the meantime:

I'm not sure about the concept. Could someone please post more ineligible pix to explain?

Wanted to try out some more ideas, but weather foiled me last week and work will get in the way next week, so this is what I got.

    #1. Ship to Orion: 2 x 30-sec, shot with Canon 40D + Sigma 10-20mm @ 10mm, f/4, ISO1600, on static tripod.

    #2. Dawn: 2 x 30-sec, shot with Canon 40D + Sigma 10-20mm @ 10mm, f/4, ISO1600, on static tripod.

    #3. The Seven Sisters (also visible on the right edge of #1 above): Total 7 hours 7min exposure (134 x 30-sec + 134 x 1-min + 113 x 2-min), shot with Canon 40D + Canon 28-300mm @ 300mm, f/8, ISO1600 on equatorial telescope mount.

Some great shots starting to roll in. And I'll 2nd or 3rd patxi's tilt shift shot as outstanding-love the effect!
