Finally got a T bar open in CB. +15 and a light breeze, no big deal on the weather front over here.

Lotta wind! Walking around the block was a challenge and I need to get out there and shovel snow, hahaha.

114mph gust recorded top of peak 8 at 4am. I sleep with my bedroom window cracked and felt snow in my face around the same time, gnarly out there!

Yeah, In the 13ish years I've lived in this house, I've never heard the wind blow like it did last night. I think I70, Berthoud, Rabbit Ears and 125 are all closed.

What websites are ya'll using to see road conditions. Is their a useable part of cotrip.org?

Rabbit Ears closed according to COtrip. Was heading that way this morning from WP. Man the wind was crazy here last night.

You may be able to get their via Trough Rd. and 131 but it would be an adventure. These days, they stop traffic in K Town and don't usually let you drive Gore Pass.

Also, this is a bit new and different. "JANUARY 13 - 14: UNLOCK IKON BASE PASS

Ikon Base Pass and Session Passes are blocked out January 13-14; skiers and riders who donate $100 to National Brotherhood of Skiers will unlock their base pass during these days and can ski/ride. Unlocking your pass uses one of your five allocated Steamboat days and if you donate two days that will use two days. $100 donation per day. Bring your NBS donation receipt to the Steamboat Ticket Office to unlock your pass."

It’s intense out there! Can’t imagine too many (any?) lifts will be spinning. Shoveling is gonna be fun.

Nuclear wind all night here. My driveway has less snow on it now than it than yesterday, so I've got that going for me. Wind might die down this afternoon, if that happens it could be some good late day laps. Would be nice if we got less wind and more snow (DUH!).

I almost put some tape on the bottom of my wind spiral to keep it from constantly going 90 degrees and smacking my door, but I cut my finger when I opened the door when it almost ripped off.

    Fun though.

The wind howling all night long can drive you nuts. One of the reasons I left the front range. Eldora used to blow quite a bit. I've never seen it before or since, where all of the snow on the back side runs was blown off the entire run to the rocks and dirt and piled up against the trees into 10'+ drifts.

Cold windy skiing yesterday, but calm, partly sunny with occasion gusts here currently.
    Best regards, Terry

went swimming last night and a guy drowned in the pool. Huge respect for his friend that pulled him off the bottom, got him out of the pool and started CPR. I have not refreshed for 4 years. I realized when it was time to act in the moment I was not as confident in my skills as I would of liked. Good day to watch some videos and do some reading.

not sure, was at the sand dunes swimming pool. I was third person over. CPR was started by the guy who pulled him out. British guy who was a tourist helped pull him out of the pool and was checking pulse. I came over and helped position in recovery position. Victim responded to the chest compressions. Was breathing on his own but never gained consciousness.

I was gonna, then realized all the lifts were closed.

Not sure I've seen it say straight up "BLIZZARD" in conditions before.

Hopefully less wind and more lifts can spin. Won’t be able to get out til Monday so I’m hoping snow keeps up through tomorrow night.

Looks like lots of lifts closed at copper, even Alpine for instance.

Bit warmer than yesterday, definitely not cold enough to wear a buff. Nice to do headwall laps all day.
