<p><em>Pressure Drop</em> captures that fleeting space between calm and chaos — when breath slows, vision sharpens and the mountain demands everything. It’s the moment before gravity takes over.</p>

<p>The Way Back is a film honoring western heritage, connection to the land, the healing power of nature, and follows the adventure of three women horse packing into the Wyoming Range to ski three alpine peaks.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Their route follows the history of Amy Jane David’s family who homesteaded in the foothills of these mountains in the early 1900’s, and built their own skis and rode horses as a utilitarian means of work and winter survival. While retracing the history of Amy’s family roots and connection to the land, Tatum Monod and Emilé Zynobia share their unique stories and experiences.&nbsp;</p>



<p>As the journey unfolds, connections form through conversation. Deeper stories emerge around injury, grief, grit, perseverance, identity, and community. The trip takes place in late spring which visually shows the transition of new life, wildflowers, and contrast between bright green valleys with stark white peaks. Each day combines sunrise ski objectives&nbsp; hunting down fun corn skiing, and riding horses from camp to camp. The film strikes a balance between retracing old trails and stories with a wild adventure.</p>



<p>The Way Back title nods to the generations back in western heritage, the way back to a slowness and simplicity, the way back to self, the way back to connection with nature, the way back to community.</p>

<p>Across North America, local communities are taking back their mountains, redefining the spirit of skiing and snowboarding at its core. Mountains Not for Profit, a short documentary by Teton Gravity Research in collaboration with the Indy Pass, dives into the stories of four non-profit ski areas that have flipped the script on corporate-driven snow culture. Shames Mountain (BC), Whaleback (NH), Black Mountain of Maine, and Antelope Butte (WY) are proof that passion, grit, and community can keep the soul of skiing alive. These mountains thrive on volunteer effort, donations, and the sheer joy of carving turns. This is grassroots skiing at its finest—where people and purpose drive the powder days</p>


<p>These mountains aren’t driven by profit—they run on something deeper. A social currency powered by the community, by people who live to ski and ride without the flashy distractions of mega-resorts. Mountains Not for Profit captures the heart and soul of these essential ski areas and the communities that keep them alive, brought to life through the award-winning storytelling and cinematic craft of Teton Gravity Research in partnership with the Indy Pass and Blackstrap.</p>

<p>Born into the iconic action sports production company Teton Gravity Research, co-founded by his acclaimed filmmaker father Todd Jones, Kai Jones became a professional skier at just twelve years old. Kai swiftly rose to the top of freeskiing with viral videos that earned him four consecutive Skier of the Year nominations, beginning at the unheard-of age of fourteen. On March 7, 2023, at sixteen, Kai suffered a near-fatal, potentially career-ending injury deep in Wyoming’s remote backcountry. After a remarkable rescue, he faced an uphill battle through multiple surgeries, intense physical rehabilitation, and relearning to walk—all while confronting whether he still wanted to pursue a career as a professional skier. This film offers an unfiltered look into Kai’s journey as he delves into his young but resilient spirit to find these answers. The film captures the immense mental and physical struggles he battled while attempting to return to the top of the mountain.</p>

Mountains provide the ultimate canvas for our community to evolve dreams into truth, and with no lack of adrenaline-pumping action, this film is also a celebration of the contagious camaraderie and joyous absurdities that make riding on snow a way of life. Join us as we take you beyond the fantasy.</p>


Beyond The Fantasy


<p>&#8220;The Hypocrite&#8221; delves into a critical discourse that is resonating with individuals across various spheres. In the context of climate advocacy, the film examines the inherent contradiction between personal actions and systemic efforts. The story is masterfully woven through the perspective of a professional skier, confronting the complex interplay between advocating for change and relying on fossil fuels for athletic pursuits. The film aspires to foster unity and collaboration within the outdoor community, transcending perceived hypocrisy and feelings of not fitting in. It aims to dismantle the culture of individual blame and guilt, focusing instead on the systemic shifts required to pave the way for a sustainable future. By erasing the boundaries that label individuals as hypocrites, the narrative invites viewers to recognize the urgent need for collective action and change.</p>

<p><strong>Teton Gravity Research and Indy Pass</strong> bring you a short film celebrating the independent spirit of the Midwest ski and snowboard community. Those who ride the Midwest will tell you &#8211; they don’t need endless storm cycles, 4,000 feet of vert or fancy base areas to have fun. A few rope tows and rails, a set of slalom gates to bash, reliable snowmaking and a sense of adventure is all it takes. The ski industry could learn a few tricks from these tried and true Midwest ski areas: Family-first means affordable passes, after school programs, volunteer-led race clubs and most importantly, a sense of camaraderie. Showcasing the resilient and ragtag crews of a few truly grassroots ski areas, In Pursuit of Soul 2: Midwest Independence takes us to Buck Hill, Caberfae Peaks, Granite Peak, Little Switzerland, Lutsen Mountains, Nordic Mountain, The Rock Snowpark, and Tyrol Basin.</p>

<p><strong></strong><strong>Esperanto is TGR’s latest action-packed </strong>mountain bike film with an added twist. Mixing the rock stars of the sport with a cast of unknown and up-and-coming heroes, the film explores how we share our dreams through a universal two-wheeled language no matter what our native tongue may be. The sacred ritual of the ride might sound different all across the world – whether it’s a full-face getting pulled down to drop into a big jump line or wheeling a beat-up bike out of a mud hut to pedal to school – but it’s a universal process no matter what language we speak.</p>

<p>As we view this visual tapestry featuring next-level riding in unusual locations all across the globe, we hear a voice speaking a language we’ve never heard:</p>


<p>There are more than 7,000 languages spoken on Earth. In 1887 a Polish-Jewish doctor named L.L. Zamenhof created a new one, a universal second language based on a combination of existing widely-spoken European languages. Its goal is to help bring people together from different ideologies, beliefs, and nations and ultimately to help end war. The language was called Esperanto. Translated into English it means ‘one who hopes.’ Today, Esperanto might remain elusive, but the dream of a shared language Spoken Worldwide still flourishes. You just have to know where to look for it.</p>
