Kicool, how do you like the Poachers? I’m thinking of grabbing a pair for Northstar as a park ski and for tight spots and easy going skiing.

I had a pair of those that I liked pretty well... They were great for spring touring, a lot of work in more than a few inches of 3d snow.

I still don't get as many days as I'd like on skis, so hammering out laps inbounds on skis I like almost always takes priority over backcountry days, but hopefully that changes one day and I can trim down my inbounds quiver and expand my touring one.

    Main quiver:
190 Moment Bibbys - powder/soft snow. Got a pair of Wildcats as backup, I might experiment mounting the current pair -1 or -2 to see how I like them before retiring them and swapping the pivots over to the new pair
186 Blizzard Bodacious - daily driver. I love how strong it is while still being a bit loose
    184 Head Monster 108 - hard snow/go fast. Such a special ski

    Auxiliary quiver:
    191 ON3P Wrenegade 113s - Good for goin fast
184 Salomon xdrive 8.8 - Very strong and precise ski, great for most days back on the east coast
    177 Volkl Mantra M4 - Tele ski

    Touring quiver:
188 G3 Sendr - great ski, beat to hell, hopefully lasts 1 more season and then can be replaced with HL C113s

How have you liked the Wrens? (I'd have loved to ski those before I shipped them to you!)
    Compare to the Bodes?

I'd ski them a lot more if my home mountain was somewhere like Whistler. They're super different than the Bodes. They're more damp, have more camber than the Bodes, don't release as easily and have a lot more ski out in front.

In a lot of ways, more like a more interesting Pro Rider. I hope to get more time on them this season!

Wow we have very similar tastes!

I wish I never got rid of my 2015 192 Wrenegade custom comp things. So much fun, as you say a more playful pro rider, and On3p will never make something like that again.

Got the touring set up today, so after a few years off, I (technically) have a quiver again. I still want a big, deep snow ski (dearly miss my old Surface New Life's), but these should keep me going for now.

    186 ON3P Jeronimo's w/ 4Frnt Attack 16 bindings.
    188 Blizzard G Zero 105's w/ Plum Guide 12 bindings

    Tecnica Mach 130 MV (27.5)
    Dynafit Radical Pro (28.5)

So, this is my current quiver for the 2023/2024 season. I kind of lost control of my quiver, because in the preseason were so many interesting skis on sale on ebay and other platforms that I could not resist. So, instead of reducing the number of Skis I own, I got more than ever…

    Daily Drivers:
Blizzard Brahma 88 in 187cm with Griffons - I like them, because it is an easy ski and does everything quite good. On hardpack the edge hold of the flip core does not work that great, but good enough.

Head Monster 98 in 184cm with Look 155 – Got them cheap and good condition. Have not ski them yet but cannot wait to get them on snow.

Völkl Mantra 102 in 191cm with STH 16 Steel – Great, almost scary ski, needs to be driven with commitment all the time. Once you get used to them, which might take 2-3 days, they are great for going fast and big. Get lazy on this ski and punishment will follow almost immediately. I have not found its speed limit yet.

Nordica Enforcer Free 104 in 191cm with Peak17 – Wonderful and easy-going ski. Playful and best for slow and relaxing days (e.g. hangover days after ares ski). Has a speed limit.

Head Kore 105 in 184 cm with Tyrolia Protector – I am quite undecided about this ski, because is neither playful nor a charger. It is light and stiff and does not belong to a certain category. I need more time on them. Maybe I sell it, maybe not.

Blizzard Zero G 105 in 188cm with ATK Freeraider 14 – The Ski is light, but a stable platform for long backcountry adventures. The Ski is great in powder and great on hard snow. Best touring ski I ever had.

    Chargers:

Movement Trust in 194cm with Beast 16 – Playful Charger, great for going fast through crud and deep chop.

Whitedot Ragnarok XII in 194cm with Look Pivot – Yes, they are a really demanding. I go to bed early and sober when I want to ride them the next day. In the world of sportscars the skis are equivalent to the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo, also equivalent to the German WWII battle tank TIGER I.

Völkl Katana in 198cm with Marker Race 9.2 – The best Katana ever build. Fast, stable and yet nimble at the same time. Much easier to ski than the Ragnarok.

    Powder Skis:

Blizzard Bodacious in 196cm with Beast 16 – Surprisingly easy to ski. Love its performance on and off piste. Going fast through crud or deep chop and having a wonderful day without thinking too much.

Atomic Bent Chetler in 192cm with Beast 14 – Like the Blister review said, having the most fun in deep powder ever.

Whitedot Redeemer in 190 cm with Griffon - New purchase, has not seen snow yet.
Moment Blister in 190cm Pro with Look Pivot - New purchase, has not seen snow yet. I really wonder if all the hype for that ski on Blister is justified. We will see.

Völkl Shiro in 193cm with STH 16 Steel – Not much to say here, one of the classic powder skis of all time.

Section of Skis, which I did not ski yet, but almost already regret buying:

Head Motörhead “Kiss of Death in 191cm with Griffon
Rossignol B-Squad 104 in 189cm with Salomon STH Lab
Dynastar Big Dump in 192cm with Marker Comp 18

Holy shit, obi wan. Nice collection of gnar chargers.

For the record, the BDs and Squads are more difficult to ski well on an off day than the Ragnaroks.

You also have a couple of skis i always lusted after, but never found a really good reason for buying at the time. Katana 198 being the prime example.

Perfectly said. I could pick any 3 skis from your quiver and be happy for a winter.

    The Quiver Pic Rerun Thread

Such a fun thread...also makes me feel better for the absurd number of skis I own. Thanks team!

I ski at Palisades Tahoe (fka Squaw Valley USA and Alpine Meadows) and primarily California's Sierra Nevada. Usually about 40 days a year inbounds and tour about 30 days/year. I started patrolling (NSP) last year, so my resort skiing has really changed in interesting ways. Much more ski whatever is best *in this complex/zone* rather than ranging all over the mountain. And sometimes ski some shit snow or help broken humans. Anyhoo...versatility!

    23/24 installment

    ALPINE

186 Moment Chipotle Banana w Pivots. Originally mounted at rec line - bumped back to -1.5, but have not yet skied them there. Excellent resort pow ski. We'll see if I love it as much as old trust Moment Bibby in this slot.

188 Blizzard Rustler 11 w CAST Pivots. Super versatile for any amount of new snow and still pretty fun on firm. This is my second pair, as I loved the versatility of the first. I love how Pivots ski, but don't love having to carry extra things to lose (CAST toe pieces) if I want to tour.

187 Moment Meridians w STH 13s. Neighborhood Craigslist score - these need serious base and edge repair. I was interested in the Meridian Tours, but wanted to try these first. They feel pretty soft - maybe they've been skied out already? We'll see - haven't skied em yet.

188 Moment Commander 98s. Love these for firmer snow conditions and spring. These get a lot of use with our long spring seasons...

188 Moment PBJs. Playful but still decently stiff. Fun as hell. Great for landing.

Some Fischer GS skis a friend gave me in a trade for some bike parts. I haven't skied em but look forward to trying!

Sooooo many skis I want to try right now, but going to try and roll with this for a bit. Would like to try:
    Moment Countach
    Rossi Sender Free 110
    Dynastar MFree 108
    4FRNT Devastator

    TOUR

(as posted in the touring quiver thread)

187 Praxis Protests - Alpinist 12s - 2065g/ski; 2454g/ski as mounted. My go-to. Cold dead hands; Every Day on the Protests is a Great Day; all the cliches. I love these things.

188 Blizzard Rustler 11 - Pivot 18 / CAST - 2050g/ski; 3050g/ski touring weight. I primarily use this for resort and rarely tour with them.

185 WNDR Intention 110 reverse camber - Voyager 12 - ~1990g/ski; 2389 g/ski as mounted. New to me in the spring of 2023. These didn't get much action as our winter switched quickly from Protest conditions to Yeti conditions. They are super fun in firm and spring conditions. I expect the same will hold true in midwinter. The reverse camber is long and low, and the ski has a long radius, flatter tail, and medium-stiff layup. So good.

182 Praxis Yeti - Voyager 16 - 1540g/ski; 1949 g/ski as mounted. These things kick ass. New to me in 2023 as well. In this slot, I tried Helio Carbon 95s (2017 vintage), Lowdown 102s, and Zero G 95s (albeit a too-short length for me), and I easily like these the best in spring conditions. Stiff and playful. Great ski - greatly exceeded my expectations. Main question about the unequivocal endorsement is that I haven't carried a multi-day pack with these yet. I'm curious whether that will be tough with the short effective edge and upturned tail.

188 Elan Ripstick 106s (I won these in a lottery!) - Outlaw X. Dunno the weights... Only skied once.

I drive these with Zero G Tour Pros. The ankle hinges are starting to oval though, so I'm wondering what else has a heel cup like a ZGTP. Or should I just get another/? I'm intrigued by the Salomon MTN Summit - that one seems to have an awesome mix of positive attributes for touring and still can hold up to 200 pounds of chunk. Heel cup similar?

    Nice set up Meter-Man!

I’m thinking I want to find an older set of 188 PBJs like you have, versus new 190 Wildcat101s

I picked mine up for $350 last year when Evo was blowing them out. I put STH2's on them, but they deserve a touring binding. Kinda considering a Duke PT. Inbound, side and back country option.

Honestly, having skied them inbounds, I think there are better options. I think the La Machine Max makes a better touring, cat or heli ski. It's definitely not a chop charger. Lots of fun in the untracked soft.

You need to just throw some pin binders on em. Light is right! Seems like a sweet deep powder touring ski on paper. But yeah, too light inbounds yer gonna get tossed around.

That seems like the right answer, but I don't tour enough to completely dedicate a ski to it. I'm also not afraid of some weight in the bindings in exchange for downhill performance.

Honestly, I may move these skis along for some Renegade's or HL C132's. We'll see. I do think they'd be hard to beat as a true soft snow touring weapon. They have the surface area to float and the light weight not to anchor you in the soft.

Either way, I need to rethink the binders on them. I grabbed them for motorized back country, but that was too small minded. They can do more, for sure.
