festive yet quite sturdy and it’s 70 miles from there to the hospital in Utica, bypassing multiple high-quality medical facilities on the way.

If you leave off "The bride and groom respectfully request that you not bring weapons to the reception" on the invitations you should expect things like this to happen.

I wonder if they had swan as one of the entree items?

a lack of dinner swans may be very well be what precipitated this unfortunate event…

Ran out of Pierogis early I'm guessing (shrug).

Gunshot victim is holding tight and not cooperating with the po po. Going to settle things in the old world way and the cops don't need to be involved.

If memory serves me correctly, calligraphers charge by the word. They were probably just saving the extra expense to spend it on the pirogi bar.

I'm not sure who he is either, but it looks like he may have lost, then reattached, that right arm of his.

Which may be worthy of a statue Upstates.

The last surviving members of any decent extended family gatherings really should be immortalized in fine stone, or at the very least, high-grade plaster.

@Brownski The history at Holiday is long, with lots of great stories and of some importance in the bigger picture. Their race program turned out some notable successes. It sure would be nice if a few of the lost areas from that zone could get it together so this and Villa Roma weren't the only two left standing.

nope. fulton is ground zero for the “heroin”… ridiculous the number of people you see walking to fulton to get their fix. almost as ridiculous as the number of people you see passed out on the side of the road after they’ve walked to fulton to get their fix and couldn’t make it home before the nod hit.

    fact.
Could have used one of those when I was a kid. I use to mow some steep shit- of course back then you could just let the mower roll itself down the hill without shutting off

    Upstate is a rough place.

    https://www.wcax.com/2023/06/22/poli...aranac-school/

Thing #3 played basketball there a few times both for AAU and HS pre-season scrimmages.

    Jesus.

My darling daughter (teaching in NYC) says at this point you're just trying to keep them from hurting themselves. Any meaningful class work ended weeks ago.

Local school district ended on 6/16, HS graduation was 6/17. But yes some schools are still in session. Snow days usually extend our school year.

Yah, tomorrow is last day of spring term but it's ridiculous. Literally every other kid in the US has been out for weeks.

That’s wild. My kid has been out since Memorial Day and while school generally starts earlier and ends earlier down here, anything past the first week of June is crazy late.

    Hahaha

Today and tomorrow is the last day for almost every district here in the Tri State zone. Yes, even the Upstate sections north of Rt 6.
