Yup, my first thought was “Jeez, what oversharing have I done in this thread?”

Hopefully Rob Story hasn’t moved to New York.

Savvy traders the Dutch, so yeah. But I like their tall blonde women, orange soccer kits and morally casual attitudes, so really, who’s to judge?

I think that we should only use geological and geographical points as reference points for where the cultural changes becomes more evident.

Based on our newfound global wiki-notoriety should we clean up some of the hooey earlier in the thread?

I was just thinking about global fame (and notoriety). Watchin' your backs boys, some of what we've said was less than professional. Too much thinkin', gotta do more of this Click image for larger version.

Leaving the Christmas Dickens Village up year round, that's a time saver.

    "less than professional?"

If professional was the goal, the box fan shoulda been burned to the ground a long time ago.

Helps to give one the sense that they are always enjoying the outdoors, even when they’re not.

It apparently took the woman 40 years to build it out, can you imagine how few holidays it would see if they took it down?
Yup, upstaters move at their own pace.

More of us need to get out on the roads. Clear the air by driving more.

I'm done with Canada. South Park was right.

Oh I’m not judging at all. Growing up my Dad had a massive Dept 56 Dickens Village that he would set up under one of the Christmas Trees that took days to get up. When it was done it looked awesome, and I imagine people who are into models or trains got similar satisfaction, but this village only lasted for a month each year before being painstakingly and carefully reboxed, rebinned and moved into storage with the rest of the decorations.

I don’t blame her one bit for saying “fuck it, this is up, I enjoy it, and it ain’t coming down”.

Do they make Tyvek in 1:48 scale? I’m thinking of making my own Upstate diorama this Christmas.
