"Ran when parked."
Man, if I put $5k into my old Pathy, it'd be Tits Mcghee.
Parts are cheap for these beasts.
The BAT sale has five hours left.
I know it’s a four door. But damn nice condition.
Seller bought it on BAT for $11k
Current bid is $7k
No reserve.
$7500 @ 20 mins?
Do BAT auctions go nuts in the last 5 minutes like ebay BITD?
Generally, yes.
Looks like it went for $10,200. Not bad considering.
Given the constraints I have placed on my quest (or those suggested by others with a vested interest in my home life) I am being extremely picky with what I'd pull the trigger on going forward. Has to be a SE trim, ideally it would be a '95, has to be rust-free (or not obviously dying from it), and can't go for stupid dollars.
It appears however that the last one may not be an issue for much longer with the possible economic downturn coming and the return(ish) to normal used car prices, especially of the 20+ year vintage. We'll see.
I still call it The Jake.
Or this one, which fits none of the above criteria, but is clean as hell.

Very cool and very clean.
Just not “it” is all.

Looks pretty clean. Wish I had an excuse to put it in my driveway.
Here's one for you https://westslope.craigslist.org/cto/7573555553.html
Fucking damnit, in my once a week or so internet search this image came up under the google reponses for "for sale". This is it. Exactly. Top of the mountain, rusted back bumper and all.
Turns out it was part of a fucking article. Thanks a lot google.

Thoughts on that undercarriage corrosion? I like how the road salt is still clearly visible under there, at least there's honesty in the pics.
This one checks a lot of boxes, but $10k for something that has cancer is a bridge too far I'm thinking.

Pass.
Frame looks solid. Those lower control arms should be replaced. Really good shape for a Chicago vehicle of that age and I think you could get them down to 8k
That's a drive across town out of curiosity, not a jump on a plane. Rust belt, accident reported, overpriced by a factor of 2.
I'd be troubled by "LOW miles for the year & truck". Yeah, because it sat for ten years. Or the odometer was disconnected. Or it was replaced by a junkyard unit. Or - and this is actually worse - it really does have ~60k miles. Sixty thousand hard fucking miles of neglect.
In my defense I only looked at the pictures
To be clear, $10K is the asking price and no where near what I would potentially offer given the same concerns that Ted Striker brings up. As someone who owned an Assfinder in the Great Lakes rust belt, the already-showing corrosion on this one is another reason I'd stay well clear of that asking price.

I’d hold off on anything that isn’t properly priced or a unicorn. I think we’re going to start seeing a significant decline in the value of over inflated nostalgia vehicles that aren’t Porches, M3s, or rare muscle cars.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.
Is the unicorn only a pristine black one? The pristine, insanely priced one in champagne pearl is still available on the showroom floor.
