Can anybody explain the appeal of Doug DeMuro? I just don't get it, and I'm not even that picky when it comes to vehicular entertainment.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

He's oblivious to the fact everyone hates him?

Yep. I think I've mentioned it in the Bobby Stainless thread, but DeMuro has a buddy who lives in my neighborhood who's had several of his cars featured in his videos. The neighbor seems plenty nice enough and has some sweet cars, and while I've never asked him directly about DeMuro, for the life of me I can't figure out how anyone can stand there and listen to his voice talking about cars.

I find his “Doug scores” to be more infuriating than his persona.

He's somewhere on the Andy Rooney - Quentin Tarantino spectrum (minus the talent)

Makes sense. Is he just constantly cycling through new viewers that are just discovering him and haven’t yet realized that they hate him?

    Hilariously well said.

Yeah but he’s also just a harmless car geek. We all knew a kid like him. Super excitable. Talks like he has a retainer in his mouth when he doesn’t. Dried spittle at the corners of his mouth.

Reminds me of the first kid at my high school to find (and download and print black and white) naked pictures of Pam Andersen in the school computer lab.

Cammisa annoys the hell out of me, but I like the format and cars and history he covers, so I selectively watch. He’s like the Sean Evans of car vids.

It must be a fairly lucrative business, there's a lot of them. I like the savagegeese boys but they cover some boring cars. As far as car repair content M539 Restorations is the best IMO. But you have to like BMWs.

You guys can rip on Doug Demuro all you want, but at the end of the day he now has a Carrera GT, a '94 Audi RS2 Avant, a Ford GT, among others, and well... we don't.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of his car quiver.

LOL, now that you've said it, I can't un-hear it.

This would be an entertaining exercise; ranking car enthusiasts/hosts. To be fair you'd have to break up the multi-host shows (all iterations thereof). For example I think Chris Harris is fantastic in delivery, driving and car knowledge, but I can also dig how a James May can geek out on why a window switch is so satisfying to operate, but they all bow before the most entertaining car personality... in the world.

That's two very audible LOLs in a very short amount of time in this thread.

I thought he sold the RS2 Avant on CaB last year or so?

Anyway, on a personal level I'm bummed a movie producer is now the majority stakeholder in CaB cause that website was the most likely place I'd find the right Assfinder while staying under the outbidding dickwaving that is BaT. In fact I missed on a great one just last year or so when I wasn't paying attention and the auto-notifications were going to my spam folder. Le sigh.

Bmills, are you on any Pathfinder forums? Might be worth joining and following the for sale listings there.

Yeah, I check in on them every few weeks or so. They don't have the chatter of an IH8Mud and when the for sale listings do come up they're usually modded up boggers and not the occasional stock examples that can pop up on IH8Mud

He owns them or the bank?

Not sure, but no matter the case he gets to drive them at his pleasure. And I don't. He just made bank on this CaB deal though ($37MM was it?), so I'm sure he's doing juuuuuust fine. Certainly better than most of us at least. That said, the comments above are hilarious. Like all the "Doug's the kind of guy to [fill in the blank]" comments that are on all his YT reviews.

I know I’m prescient, but damn that’s weird. I swore he already sold it or listed it way back when. He even had a Super Bowl ad maybe about it?

Found it, here’s the ad he had it in.

I still have the Matchbox of that exact 4Runner, well, now my son has it. But no, as cool as it may be, I’m gonna pass. Thanks.

This is amazingly clean looking in the pics. Is it the new Assfinder?
