Santa Cruz is a surf town on the Pacific Ocean. If that car spent a long time there, if it was on the west side of town it gets exposed to a lot of Pacific salt air, and "California rust-free" no longer applies, too close to the coast is like being in the upstate.

I grew up near Monterey. It's not like it's a rust belt winter salt area.

    The quest for Bmillsskier's Pathfinder

Fog zone experience is that the body and frame don’t rust like the interior salted roads, but the electronics suffer. YMMV

Chup, you’re the man with the eye always on the lookout!

This one unfortunately looks like it may have some rear end accident damage; and with the frame right up to its ass that tends to affect the weak spot in it above the rear axle. The tailgate looks to have been redone incorrectly, but I’ll still look nonetheless.

Damn. I just glanced at it on a phone, didn't zoom in on any pics.

On my phone, this looks pretty clean for as old as it is.

    Very cool, Chup thanks.

Below the year threshold for the search, but a really cool survivor example to be sure!

Want a project? Looks like a pretty decent starting point.

    "being sold for parts"

This went live today on BaT. I remember when it sold the first time. Looks like they've trim-engineered it to be an SE now.

    No bids. Yet.

Who the fuck buys an assfinder for $14k on bat and tries to flip it?

Yep, but it looks to be intact. Apply for missing/duplicate title, register in your home state...

You're not wrong at all. I just don't know if I'm up for that kind of a project.

Now, if I can get Montucky on the job...

It'll be a lot cheaper than the one on BaT.

Not wrong again. Are we factoring in Montucky's labor though?

Buy this for him, and I'd bet he'll be OK with that deal:

If only we lived in the same town, I'd be there in a jiffy with a case of cold ones and help you get after it. Or perhaps a Porsche project! Speaking of which, there's a Cayman in my neighborhood that's been parked for like a year with a blown motor. I'm damn tempted to make the guy an offer. Only thing holding me back is my lack of a lift, which kind of makes it a non-starter on that one. Haha.

LMAO. I may be Red Green handy sometimes, but I don't exactly have a death wish either.

I bought this one 21 years ago and it's still plugging right along.
