... Change to much colder and more unsettled weather for the
interior of northern California this weekend...

High pressure over northern California will shift westward by the
end of the week as a series of progressively stronger disturbances
drop down the West Coast from the north bringing a much colder
airmass along with a chance of showers to the region.

A strong cold front is expected to move across northern California
Friday night signaling the beginning of this change in the
weather. It will usher a much colder airmass southward into
northern California and will be accompanied by scattered showers
along with breezy to locally windy conditions. Snow levels will
lower rapidly into the foothill elevations... however initial
precipitation amounts are expected to be generally light.

Cold and showery weather is forecast to continue over the weekend
and into early next week... though there is some potential for
more significant precipitation to develop next week.

Translating this, I see it as MAYBE we MIGHT get SOME shower activity. Oh and its gonna be cold yay.

I have never been so stoked on such a wimpy grim "special weather statement"
    .

Are poor early conditions unusual in California? No. That's why we have snowmaking [edit: and backcountry gear]. The Lake Tahoe area averages over 400" of snow a year, with more in places like Kirkwood. STFU now.

Yeah I know, it was late and I was nervous about a Criminal Procedure final this morning.

My general point was that... if you look at the past, this isn't very unusual. Thanksgiving-ish skiing has been shitty for the past several years. The last year it was good was 2004. Nothing to get "nervous" about. Maybe frustrated, but not "nervous." And nothing to delete this fucking kickass (minus the bigballs cunting early on) and destined-to-be-legendary-at-SOME-POINT-this-winter thread over.

    I need a nap.

Nah, you misread it. Erie is Civ Pro. And I don't have to think about that inane shit until June. I DO have a Cal Civ Pro final on Thursday, but Erie is not on it (personal jurisdiction, including the Federal jurisprudence, is, however).

Today was... how many times can the cops fuck up and implicate the 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendments in a three page fact pattern?

    Except in Leap Years.

Oh, and nothing to see here. Nothing to get excited about.

And what gimpy said. Shit, he has been out way more than me, but all six days I hiked for turns were worth it. Well worth it.

I may have gotten my best corn ever this past November. Thin, but tasty for sure.

Snow is there. Just high up, and you need to work for it.

I really don't care about this thread anymore. It's meaningless to me.

I know that I slayed it at Squaw on Saturday, it will be the pinnacle day of the season, and I'm content. I have reached a quiet state of nirvanah. My soul is at peace and I hear the divine words of inspiration in the gentle breeze of the Sierras.

And I might be getting ready to post my Tahoe Almost or Slightly Late Pre-Ski Season 08/09 thread very very soon for those who have not been fortunate to enjoy the gifts of this past Saturday afternoon. I skipped it last year and this year's thread could be very different.

The only real update one needs: after Saturday at 4:30, I will be getting blitzed in Palo Alto, and then to the folks' place on Monday to ski for essentially a month straight (including some post-New Years Mammoth BC/area skiing).

Yeah, I'm sure that's one of them. I used to do it pretty often too, but since moving to SF it's been getting less frequent. Starting at Miyake. Probably NoLa too. Edit: The girls call it "Nine Holes" and do it every year in December. Pub golf, pub crawl. I've started calling it "Nine Whores." They think it's funny.

A bunch of SCU '04 girls (my GF included) and associated friends.

You're at Santa Clara now, right? I finished undergrad in '06.

Never said you won't. I remember you saying earlier that you should be free to ski on Saturday. Just sayin' I'll post some photos to make up for some of the useless crap that I've babbled about in here while we we've been waiting.
