Alex Honnold, you better watch out. There’s some hot new competition in the world of free-soloing and it’s coming from this adorable raccoon.

What started out as a sad story about this raccoon being trapped on a ledge of the Town Square office building in St. Paul, Minnesota has turned into an incredible feat of athleticism: after maintenance workers unsuccessfully tried to coax the animal down, he started scaling the 25-story tower.
#mprraccoon has been trending on Twitter, with mpr radio’s Tim Nelson keeping us updated on this fella’s journey north up the UBS building.
The twitterverse was kept on edge as we watched the raccoon's slow progress up the building, but we can all let go of that collectively held breath – last night mpr raccoon made it safely to the roof.
Technicians from Wildlife Management Services were waiting with traps at the top of the building and have promised the raccoon will be released in a safe, but undisclosed, location.
This was certainly an exciting first ascent, but we're hoping this furry guy sticks to trees from now on.
