Buddy this was the biggest 24 hour storm total maybe ever in Aspen during a week when nobody is at work or school and nothing is open yet. Early season so everyone is horny for pow. I barely waited in line yesterday and today was ski on after noon. This is not indicative of some sort of seismic shift in skier traffic/demand.

    Aspen 24-25

9 yo and I traversed the knob and took the edge of Ute Chute down. It was absolutely hilarious being on VX when they dropped the rope at Sam’s knob and watching all the beaters get stuck.

Too deep and dense for anything but straight lining at that point.

I hear this woman yell “on your left” and within 5 yards of past me she was upside down and sunk to her ankles. I laughed…she came up for air, but had some digging to do.

Lines at Snowmass were not bad, but that stupid VX lift stops three times every ride up.

That's why avoid the VX as much as possible. Sam's was having the same affliction yesterday, hopefully it corrects itself today.

I'll be skiing Snowmass today around 9. Blue jacket, white helmet with big black skis that don't turn a whole lot.

Hopefully big burn opens today. Elk Camp this weekend or next storm cycle?

Bummed to have missed the dump, but pretty psyched for the fat base build up!

Don’t worry Ajax has returned to it’s natural state of skiing right on to the lifts. Some fun rope drops the past few days

Yeah, you probably missed the best November conditions in forty years.
But it's staying cold and actually sucking some of the moisture out of the snowpack.
Every rope drop or lift opening for the next two weeks, will be awesome!

Is this the season for 1A?

And did we get enough snow for them to continue opening things the next two weeks as the work gets done? We are in for a pretty big dry spell, but temps look good.

Basically zero additional snow of the opening if Highlands and Buttermilk on 12/14.

We have enough snow to open almost everything at Ajax. Dumps opened today.

    Bmilk/Tiehack has plenty of snow.

[emoji637]a? You mean the development? Guessing that’s still a few years out.

At least two years still for 1A, probably more. Hopefully it opens by next weekend, just to take some pressure off the Gondi.

    Perry's Trees was good!

Nice…I have been at Snowmass with the family. Wish they would open Adam’s avenue, elk camp and Alpine springs.

Two creaks would also be great to get open

I never ski Elk Camp, but they really do need to get it and Adam's Avenue open for the families.
Generally they don't open Alpine Springs and High Alpine till the 14th.
Two Creeks is usually the following weekend.

Yeah, it helps spread things out when Elk Camp is open. Plus, some cheaper dining options.

Dumps rope drop was awesome yesterday and it took people a while to realize since 6 wasn’t open. Pretty much just lapped Perry’s all day. Also definitely gotta be the first time we’ve hit the couch cliff in Nov. A few dry weeks is a fine compromise for getting to have a november like that

That was one way to try to ski myself into ski shape...

I'll be up at lunch a few times this week.

Looks like Heroes opens today, 6 and Ruthie's will open Saturday. They're just finishing up snowmaking at 1A and there's a buttload of piles. But it doesn’t look like they're in any hurry to open.

I kind of like that they moved Winterskol to Highlands/ Buttermilk opener. Good way to kick off the season!

They were slowly pushing those piles when I was up this morning, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

I hadn't heard that about Hero's, but I may skip that at this point until it's a little skied in, I don't like hollow.

Rode #3 with an exchange patroller from Chamonix this morning and he confirmed a scheduled mid-day opening for Hero's. I'll wait until that snow gets skied in as well...

    You guys missed out!
Got multiple laps in Hero’s mid day and I thought it was better than at any time all last season - maybe I got lucky but didn’t hit anything and mostly untracked or lightly cut up if you ventured away from directly under chair

Tats had a similar take. I'm just risk adverse with that. I would have been first in line pre-injury spree.

I am planning on taking my dad up for the last 2-3 runs of the day today.

Saw that terrain this summer. So many 2' tall stumps ready to end your season. Love it back there, just gonna let someone else pack it down for me. Glad you enjoyed it up there. Cool new terrain.

Yeah, I would've loved to be in there yesterday, but I'm not sure I'll trust it this weekend or beyond until we have another good storm. Too many sketchy outcomes from last season. But I say that as someone who hasn't skied a resort day yet and is unforgivably late to the party this year. Ajax tomorrow; I'm pumped!

Take Cnty Rd 108 due west out of town. About 2 miles up turn right on Cnty Rd 125. 5 miles to Cnty Rd 117. Turn left. Drive about another 5 miles to where the road is no longer plowed which is a mile past Sunlight Ski area. Skin track on the NW ridge to summit of Williams Peak. Popular back country skiing with low to no avy danger. Use Caltopo but almost any skintrack will take you to the summit nice views.
