I mean, Steph is a poster child for the NBA and Klay is downright lovable. So funny how dubs fans want to be the NWA of the league but in fact they're Kid'N'Play.
Exactly. It's the opposite...they are so beloved that the shit Draymond pulls goes mostly without consequence. Take a look at that 10 minute sample of his nonsense, and that's truly just a sample. Many of those instances went without much, if any, repercussions.

The confusion for J and others is that people dislike Draymond while not disliking the dubs on the whole.
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that

Based on Pooles antics this season, im even more sure that he deserved a mouthful of draymond’s knuckle sandwich. Too bad the tape was leaked.

Seriously? Poole is a clown but calling Draymond out for riding Steph to glory is pretty damned funny and certainly not worthy of a bitch ass sucker punch. Poole kept his mouth shut all season while the Warriors further coddled Dray.

Kerr got a mouthful from Jordan for less. So ya, Poole deserved it. But there was way more to what Poole was mouthing off about than any coattail nonsense.

The NBA needs to bring back punching. The owners only shut it down because contracts cost a lot more now

It’s a good heckle from someone on another team but no way do you say shit like that to a teammate. There’s a reason Kerr, Steph and the other vets all had Draymond’s back. Poole had a great 2-3 month run and I appreciate that stretch but he’s been absolute garbage otherwise. And his antics in Washington this season have been hilarious.

Legit no one hates the dubs. They are really good and have had a great run. Draymond is annoying. More people hate the Spurs than the Dubs. The Spurs did it longer.

And combined, people who despise the spurs and warriors combined doesn’t sniff the number who hate the 6ers.

    For good reason!

Nope. But your desperation to be the villain is bizarre.

It’s a common enough belief to be on his wiki that he won the first three rings behind Cartwright and the last three legitimately supporting MJ and Scottie.

Regardless, if you wanna buy into the need for an “enforcer” in basketball I’m not going to argue with you. Generally, I think you just lose more calls when you turn it into a scrum, but that’s the way playoff basketball often goes, especially the further behind one team falls. Part of the problem is finding an enforcer that can hit free throws.

Draymond isn’t an enforcer like Charles Oakley was. He gets into it but he doesn’t intimidate. Noone is scared of him. The only person he actually hit is the biggest pussy in the league.

And Draymond is (was?) a legitimately good player. Long arms, moves well. Hustles (really, if you hustle like he or Marcus Smart do…you stand out as a defender in the NBA). Used to hit the occasional jumper and grab rebounds and put it back in. Guards 4 positions well. Key glue guy for championship teams that does the dirty work.

I agree. I’m just hung up on the “is” vs. “was” dilemma.

He wasn’t that guy last June.

This thread has become weird as fuck.

Charles Oakley started 1159 out of the 1282 games he played in. Ratio was almost 100% before his last 2 seasons. It’s almost like they keep track of this shit and it’s available on basketball reference.

    I’m out…

Damn, 6 game losing streak for the dubs. And 7 loses in the last 8 with the only win in that stretch coming against Bob’s pistons. No wonder all these homers are so ornery.

Chet looks like he could give wemby a run for his money for ROY, and his team looks a lot more relevant. This rookie class is looking awesome, Ausar Thompson, Brandon Miller, Derick Lively and Keyonte George have all had impressive starts. keynote is definitely the only highlight so far for the jazz this season, dude is legit and has a good head on him.

Speaking of enforcers, I’ve really started to like Dillon Brooks. Dude always gives it his all, and takes pride in his defense. He’s been playing good so far this season and had an awesome FIBA summer. His antics are annoying (and have bit him in the ass) but there’s no doubt the grizzlies miss his presence this year as they look like one of the worse teams in the NBA currently. He’s a perfect player for Ime Udoka’s coaching style.

Brooks is my all-time favorite Oregon Duck. He definitely left it all out there. Too bad he has such a hard time keeping his shit under control but I believe his back story is pretty incredible.

Orlando Magic look really good and should be a force in the league for a few years. Now Mo Wagner had a career night against the Celtics, but there sure is a lot of good players on that team.

The Magic and OKC definitely have looked impressive to start the season. I’d even lump the Pacers and Rockets into the category of teams on the rise and potential true contenders in the coming years. Certainly looks like the tides could be starting to turn…

I still think the Nuggets and Celtics are the teams to beat, but it’s fun watching these younger teams start to come together.

Brackets are set for the in season tourney and it’s gonna be sweet! I’ll be rooting for the Kings and Pacers because Fox and Halliburton are super fun to watch ball. but if I was betting my money would be on the Celtics or maybe the Bucks. Overall I don’t think any team has looked dominant this season to be a clear favorite, but I expect some competitive games as the half million prize is now within reach. I look forward to seeing it play out.

Cavs came up 15 points shy of making the WC spot after throttling the Hawks. This team is really trying to find its identity as Donovan had a slow start.

Darius Garland has been great, and Strus has been a real nice surprise as has Mobley’s progression.
I still call it The Jake.

I have no clue what's going on with this tournament.... And I have no interest in learning about it.

With a knockout tournament it just takes some hot three point shooting to advance.

Not sold on the Rockets or Pacers, but Magic and Thunder look to be knocking on the door soon.

The Warriors should make the playoffs because their first round pick has gone elsewhere, but outside Steph is there anyone on the team that scares other teams?

Sixers have a lot to work with for a trade improvement. I think they leapfrog the Bucks.

All guesses are based on health.

I haven’t watched any cavs games this year, just caught some highlights, but thought Donovan was off to a strong start, he’s averaging 28 ppg and is in the top 10 for scoring…. Oh well, I concede Cavs takes to you. they’re a fun team to watch (when I do) and certainly in the category of teams that could be awesome in the coming years.

Sorta crazy the top 5 players on the scoring list are averaging 30+ ppg… I feel like 10 years ago, you’d be lucky if one player averaged 30+. Lots of talent in todays NBA
