Yeah teams are scared…of Draymond Green kicking them in the dick or cheap shot headlocks from behind

Exactly, that's what is going to make it awesome! NCAA tourney style in the NBA! Single game elimination...

Also, why I'm rooting for the #1 offense in the NBA: Indiana Pacers! While they don't play defense, they can score at will and typically out score their opponents. Halliburton said he cares about winning it so he's locked in and he's been ballin this year. of course, in the quarter finals they play a team that dropped 155 on them this season so there's also that.

Plus there's a lot of players in the tourney that can cook: Dame Time, KD, Fox/Monk like in their Kentucky season, LeBron, and the Cs have been strokin' it behind the arc. This all adds up to some wild games like the pacers-hawks game last week where both teams scored 150+ in a shootout. It's going to be some fun basketball to watch!

They keep using time outs to try to explain why we should give a shit about the tourney but every time they do I get less interested. I mean, if they have to spend that much time explaining it, then it's probably because it's not very exciting on its own merits.

Sorta crazy the top 5 players on the scoring list are averaging 30+ ppg… I feel like 10 years ago, you’d be lucky if one player averaged 30+. Lots of talent in todays NBA
Donovan has been great since he's been back from injury, which has been the problem with the team all season. Mitchell and Allen started the year out with injury, and JB Bickerstaff has had trouble implementing the offense when he can't get the starting 5 of Mitchell, Garland, Allen, Mobley and Strus all on the floor together with any consistency. That Hawks win showed a ton of promise for the group.
I still call it The Jake.

Shaedon Sharpe turned out to be a pretty savvy draft pick. I recommend audio...

Why does the one highlight you choose to show have to be a poster on walker kessler? Hahaha

I have nothing against Kessler, I promise. But this happened a minute later. Different player dangling his nuts on your boy.

If it makes you feel better, this is the highlight of our season. Literally.

Hahaha it’s all good, you’re gonna get posterized if you are try to contest shots and get blocks. I’d rather that happen than a player who cares about being on the bad end of a poster and avoids it. Jazz still won that game so there’s also that

Pacers lived up to their name tonight. Damn they play a fast pace…. Extended the lead to 9 in the blink of an eye at the end of first game of quarter finals. Celtics didn’t give up either, but man, looked hard to keep up with the non stop scoring at the end. Halliburton and the pacers are fun to watch

As a Pacers fan living in Celtics world that was fun to watch, they're not on TV around here too often. If Indy could play legit defense every night they'd be dangerous

2023/2024 NBA THREAD: WHO WANTS TO GO ON PARADE?!?

Enjoyed watching the young Blazers push the Dubs last night. Simons and Sharpe looked good as well as Jabari Walker (until he fouled out).

Blaze are going to be a force coming soon in the future. Hopefully, Chauncey will get them to buy in completely.

I wouldn’t put too much stock into the blazers having a close game with a team that’s currently ranked 11th in the west and would miss the play ins if they started today. I’m still holding the dubs stock because I believe in Steph, but it’s not looking good for them this season and likely the coming seasons. Hopefully, klay and wiggins can turn around their slow starts, but more likely the era of small ball has come to an end in the nba as more talented big men emerge.

IMO blazers will be hampered by some large salaries like Anyton and Grants once their talented rookies see their rookie contracts elapse.

Pacers on the other hand… I’m buying that Halliburton stock. That’s a young team that could be dangerous if they start playing defense. Hope they beat the lakers to win the in season tourney but lebrons doing lebron things, and he looks determined to win the tourney. Should be a good final!

I don't disagree but starting rebuilding mode with two sub 25 y/os who average ~20ppg--one of which is a pretty nasty defender--is a pretty good place to start. They'll trade Grant at some point, and obviously Brogdon. Retaining both Sharpe and Ant will be difficult but it's a great problem to have.

Add in the surprise of Camala and his D this season and it's been fun to watch. Dude is producing Pippen-like defensive stats.

Rebuilding is often code for hopeless and fortunately that's not the case. But boy do we suck right now...

I think the Blazers have a pretty good future.

I think Ayton will go somewhere as well. He'd be good on the Lakers but they have nothing to give us. He might be good on the Dubs too, but I don't mind him sticking around. For the Dubs they'd have to trade Clay for him. Time lord was a bummer but injuries happen. Grant will get jettisoned at some point. I was also trying to think of a trade with the Dubs that would make some sense for Grant and it seems like it too would need to involve Clay.

anyhow, they suck, but there is reason to feel good about the team.

Sitting on the baseline and just saw Powell fall on Kyrie up close. That did not look good. Kyrie grimaced while shooting some free throws and then limped to the locker room. Fuck.

    Luka doing Luka things.

I haven’t watched a lot of basketball this season…. But what’s the court side view? Making me dizzy. Is that something they do a lot now??

I don’t like the close-up courtside view, but I do like that view that is higher up and you can see the whole court a lot better. It really makes you feel like you’re there.
