    Bootfitter in or Around Denver

Student loans are coming through soon which can only mean one thing: time to start looking at new gear.

Where's some good boot fitters around this bitch?

Obviously your not a golfer. Take a day trip to Boulder. See Larry.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

    fuck that noise.

going to throw my hat in for Lee at the Custom Foot on Broadway, great guy, a true boot artist, and he does hiking boots in the summer.
My feet are weird shaped and often hurt in any kind of shoe, but he got my alpine boots feeling like slippers, very stiff slippers.

did larry move, move in with base and edge, is it a summer thing or is he gone?

i drove by there the other day, and it looked like base and edge moved into his space

Larry has closed during the summer as long as i've know about him. Seems like he would close in like May, and then start back up in the fall sometime like Sept. or Oct.

+1 on Lee. See him before people start thinking about skiing and appointments are harder to schedule
I can't believe you are a rando racer because I look so much better in Lycra than you.

I would add Joe Hoffman at Christy Sports (formerly Alpenglow) at Bowles and Wadsworth. Wicked bootfitter, great guy, large inventory easily at hand.

Just bumping this to recommend Jeff Bergeron (Boot Fixation), since he's now splitting his time between Breckenridge and Denver. He's not super cheap ($300), but he's a C-Ped and he really knows what he's doing, and he takes the time to make sure everything is as dialed as it can be (even if you have weird feet and alignment issues like me).

Bumping this thread for current information. I'm trying to find my wife a fitter that will do replacement liners for her old(er) Salomon 4-buckles. She really likes the boots, but the liners are really getting to the end of life.

I'd just do Intuitions myself, but it's my wife and I want someone *else* on the hook for making her feet happy.

What kinda liners you looking for? Lots of places will do intuitions. Fewer do Zipfits (powder7 does). Something else? How tricky of a foot do you think she has?

I don't actually think her foot is "tricky" at all... but I'm no bootfitter. I'd take recommendations for good Intuition shops as well as Zipfits. I've got inquiries in currently at Boot Mechanics and The Custom Boot to get some feedback on whether they provide liner+fit service.

Larry's is no longer owned by Larry but is still good, I think.

I'm not sure what to think about the OP of this thread, the username doesn't leave much to the imagination.

Got a response back from Boot Mechanics - despite their website not mentioning replacement liners anywhere, they *do* provide Intuition liners and fitting. So I think I'm going to book with them, as I've never heard anything but good stuff about them.

New "Larrys" is good, still a good collection of mostly oddballs who care alot about boots. And will do modest mods for a modest fee.
The only knock I have with Boot Mechanics is that I got some customer masterfit footbeds from them and those things sucked - within prob 2 seasons they were just flattened. Since switched to online Thread Labs for carbon high arch beds

Boot Mechanics is solid. As is Powder7 if you want to go Zipfit route. Boone Mtn Sports in Evergreen will also hook it up and do a good job. Coolest boot fitting space too.

While I’ve only been to their Avon store, Boot Mechanics have been awesome for me, and my friends and family. I’m on my 3rd season of their orthotics and holding up well for me. Within minutes, they even identified my ankle flexion issues as causing my toe jamming issues that I always ended up toe boxes being stretched out before. I love Larry, but he missed that solution in 20 plus years of working with him (and so did any of the other 5 shops I worked with when trying out other fitters). Boot mechanics is now my go to spot to recommend anyone. My wife was never really happy with any boots, and they got her dialed. Since then, I’ve sent numerous people there and they’ve been happy with the results.

Just heads up -- Boot Mechanics owner/lead fitter (Jeremy) works exclusively in Avon these days.
