I happen to know for a fact that vagabond is an andyzee alias.
And adironrider, it's ok. Deny it all you want, but we both know where you're from.

And humpty, honestly, wow, I'm honored.

    That said,

When you reasonably exhaust all scenarios, then you cannot blame me for assuming the only remaining scenario must be true. When, through no fault of my own, one of the possibilities that I had previously found to be untrue, I came out and admitted it. When my parents told me they searched the car 6 months ago, I had to believe them. When they told me they accidentally found it, what am I going to do, reprimand them?

For all of you people complaining about bitching, if you honestly felt that someone from the TSA stole your ipod, you'd be going apeshit too. So get off your high horse.

And if you don't think that when the TSA decides they want to go through your bags, that they don't dig all the way to the bottom and check everything they can, you've never had a TSA agent go through your bags.

I have no dog in this fight and I hate the fucking fucks at the TSA, but steve, your logic sucks. Since YOU NEVER ACTUALLY PACKED the iPod in your luggage, your little scenario game is invalid.

Just goes to show you, (and I'm guilty, too) you have to be 100% sure before making accusations. You have to give the other person the same benefit of the doubt you'd like them to give you. I've been on both sides and it's not always pretty.

I packed my daypack in the luggage. All my gear was still in the daypack, as I didn't empty it before packing. It's reasonable to assume that I didn't remove the ipod either, especially since my parents told me they thoroughly searched the car.

Apparently, at some point on the 5-6 hour midnight drive I took the ipod out of my daypack and stuck it in the car's compartment for some reason.. It was after hiking Humphrey's peak, and I was quite tired, but I still can't imagine why I did that. My companions didn't remember me doing that either, they were sure that after the hike, I dropped the daypack in the trunk and didn't touch it again the whole trip. I didn't use the car again after getting back to my parent's house.

Like I said, if my parents said they searched the car, then I have to believe them. They're my parents. That's the long and the short of it.

No, but if they ever send me the check, you can be assured that I will return it with a very sincere apology. I am definitely supposed to have received the check by now, and I was about to call them and see what's up.. but I haven't decided what I'll do now on that front.

Now Andy, please leave me alone. Thank you.

You blame your friends, your parents, the TSA, do you ever assume responsibility for anything?

My dad got patted down once on an international flight, at the gate. ( no chance he's goign to return soon). He's an old man, so he wears one of those waist gizmo's. Anyway, they spun him around while they searched it, he gets to lax for his transfer, and his 5 crisp c-notes were gone.

I go to the sf airport pd then next day, they admit alot of similar complaints, but cannot hear one from anyone but the victim. Opps, he;s 8000 miles away and isnt comming back for a yr.

    Smart.

    We're talking about an ipod.
Not skis, not a bike, not a computer, not a boat, not a car, not a house, not a girlfriend.

    An ipod.
Lets keep the argument to the item at hand.

How do you jack an entire house anyhow? Assuming it's not a mobile home.

oh, so what you're saying is there's a number.

above a certain number, you can be pissed.
below it, you're not allowed to be pissed.

the number for the ipod was $260.08. Please propose a higher number which I will forever use as my threshold for being pissed.

    Thanks.

This is old news for anyone flying in or out of PHL (Philly)
Even before 9-11, every bag I owned that ever passed through that airport was razor sliced and groped. All manor of shit stolen. No recourse. Prior to 9-11 I thought seriously about loading my bags with double edge razor blades but never did it because I didn't want blood all over my clothes.
