For 2016–a year in which Rocky Mountain is celebrating 35 years in business–the Vancouver brand is rolling out the Vertex 20" kids bike. Built for serious shred-addled groms, it comes with an aluminum frame, SRAM automatically-shifting two-speed hub, hydraulic disc brakes, and an air sprung fork with rebound adjustment. It's cool to see kids bikes getting more legit, although $750 retail might cross mom and dad as a little pricey for young Sierra, Jackson, or TJ.

A new, cheaper aluminum Thunderbolt 710 still comes with RIDE-9 chip system but with more affordable Manitou suspension and parts kit that brings the bike down to a hair under two grand. And the new Maiden downhill bike comes out with Smoothlink four-bar suspension, massive pivots, cross-braces, and bearings, and can be adjusted to roll with 27.5" or 26" wheels depending on whether you're racing downhill or going to boost huge jumps with a few adjustments in the frame and a puck added to the head tube.
