For those of you who don’t know about the Megavalanche, it’s likely the rowdiest race you’ll ever see on two wheels. Mass tart. Crashes. Glaciers. Rocks. Crashes. Oh, and did I mention carnage? There’s really not much else to say. Take a few minutes to appreciate the gnar, and please pardon Ben Deakin’s French.

Many cross riders make this a family affair and there are races for young kids in a separate course, “Lil’ Belgians”. The venue will typically have coffee, food (food trucks), sometimes beer. For the rest, races are in categories: from category 4 and 5 for beginners, to category 1 (and then professionals, who tend to show up to the UCI ranked races, Charm City CX and DCCX).
