A GoFundMe campaign has been established to offset the medical expenses of Bryce Newcomb. The skier is just beginning his journey to recovery, and the local Jackson, Wyoming community wants ensure one burden—the hospital bills—doesn’t impede any efforts.

Last Tuesday, Newcomb broke through a cornice while ascending Cody peak, located in the backcountry near the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Newcomb sustained traumatic injuries from the fall, in which he was carried by debris over 1,000 feet.
A severe head injury required a life flight to the ICU of the East Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, where he currently remains in critical condition. He is expected to be moved soon into a different facility for further recovery. The campaign was started in the hopes that costs won't impinge on his recovery, and has already raised over $64,000 in four days.
"The love and support shown for Bryce has already been truly inspiring, and we appreciate your help in getting our buddy back to health," the GoFundMe campaign stated.
