The year was 2002. Tony Hawk was a superstar and widely recognized as one of the greatest skateboarders out there. Then he did the unthinkable—a Bagel Bites promo. Outrage ensued in the skateboarding community. How could the golden boy of skating associate himself with a snack served to middle schoolers? They called him a sell-out and gave him the heinous nickname "Bagel Boy". Now 17 years later, Hawk is breaking the silence. He's back with the mini bagel delicacy, and he's not taking heat from anyone.
Addressing the peanut gallery on Instagram, he wrote, “Is it still considered ‘selling out’ when you’ve been buying the product long after they were paying you to endorse it?” Good food for thought. But really, just let the man have his bagels!

It's also worth noting that the ad campaign is about more than just Bagel Bites, it's also about celebrating Rad Dads. Who could forget the video of him teaching his daughter how to drop in? Adorable.
