Do I Win The (Sports Related) Gimp Central Prize?

Holy bloody hell, as I might have retorn my ACL repair from 2012. It’s been bothering me for a while, but two days ago, I sprinted to the front door while I was cooking, only to find a mayoral candidate on the doorstop. Somehow tweaked something hard.
I have an MRI on Monday.
So that would make a possible 5 surgeries that I need in the next year:

    Shoulder replacement
    Thumb reconstruction
Nerve damage/carpal tunnel repair on index finger
Trigger finger repair on right pinkie
Possible knee replacement (I already have one)

However, I can still ride my bike, and plan to do so until mid November. 10 days in Colorado and Utah, followed by two weeks in Perú should wear me the fuck out.
    Life is pain, kids.

I might just have to explore a ‘retirement’ job working in a PT clinic. Good lord, do I have enough experience.

    Damn!!
    Sorry to hear that.
I thought I was doing good at three surgeries in the last decade!

2 ACLs (left and right) and a left Achilles tendon.

But I think Smileyfaceguy with the broken distal femur in the backcountry guy might win.

Oh, you have absolutely NO idea about my relationship with Teton Orthopaedics, LOL.
They have given me free ‘frequent flier’ MRI’s on two separate occasions. I live across the street.

Some places are weeks out, others will call it in like an xray and you walk downstairs or ride the elevator.

There was a guy last winter who decided to ski tech bindings at Brighton, fell in a sidecountry chute, and spiral tib/fib'ed *both* legs. Lived back East somewhere and had to get flown home like that.

I told my cutter that they should punchcards with a little skeleton on it like Operation.
Get a punch where you get cut.
Tried convince him that 4 punches, the 5th is free.

    He didn't go for it.

Had a trooper of a wife who had just blown her ACL at Snowbird(?), but wouldn't cut the trip short.

I think operating on some of you guys when you know you're just going to go out and hurt yourself again is almost malpractice. (Almost malpractice is something one of my mentors accused me of. I thanked him for the almost.) But good luck.

@rideit - what needs to happen to the thumb?

I ask because three yrs ago I ruptured the flexor pollicus(sp?) longus tendon in my right (not dominant) thumb. I can touch thumb to each of the other fingers, but it won’t bend at the knuckle.

The surgeon told me options included harvesting tendon from ring finger to get thumb ROM back (ie losing using of that finger), he wouldn’t be able to determine until he had the hand cut open, three month rehab and probability of LT success was about 60%.

I said no thanks. Only real drawback now is a little loss in grip strength and need to hold small flies in hemostats to tie up to tippets.

    FWIW.

Regardless, good luck with the knee and the other maladies. Getting old ain’t for sissies.
