Metlife has offshored their phone support, I think to the Philippines. They seem to understand me just fine, but my hit rate with them is maybe 50%. If they're going offshore, they need to offer their customers some accent acclimation training, maybe some videos or something. Or just use chat support as God intended

Somehow i got english speaking, apple pie eating, golddern american when talking to customer service lately with both my bank and my credit card company.

Unfortunately it was due to some pretty fucked up shit with my CC and now i get two months of switching every account over to the new CC.

Well, if they have to fuck up badly handling your money for you to get the American csrs, I'll stick with my new friends in the Philippines. I just start to feel bad after the third time I ask them to repeat themselves

Ugly corporate american corporations outsourcing customer services to take advantage of lower wages in third world countries to enhance the bottom line for shareholders while simultaneously fucking over their loyal (barf) customer base. Get used to it.

Thankfully it has been forever since I called customer service. Last time I was expecting the Indian accent but nope Alabama and she was great. Please don't offshore support jobs.

After my last company got acquired the parent co was appalled at CA wages and preferred to hire customer support people out of Florida where they could get away with paying $25-30k/yr. Offshoring those jobs might have been a step up on sending them to the third world country that is Florida. Those people caused so many problems with existing customers because they were incompetent.

I don't remember what company it was, but I had a CSR with a little bit of a western drawl one time and asked where he was located. I don't remember the exact location, but he told me he was working remote somewhere where they were very few local jobs. Maybe one of the Dakotas?

Anyway, apparently making a few bucks over minimum wage was a great deal out there, with low COL. Why can't we have more of that?

1st fucked me up for a solid three days, mild symptoms including sore arm with redness for another four. 2nd dose I barely noticed.

I got the first and had no side effects at all, so I’m pencilling out 3 days for the second shingles, covid, and current flu.
I wonder if they could just combine the current covid with the current flu, it would make sense if they could.

My late wife got post-herpetic neuralgia after a dose of shingles - which affected the side of her head and eye. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy. A sore arm for a couple of days doesn’t compare.

It’s no joke. But the shot is definitely a lot more than a sore arm for most people I know. Still much better than the shingles. Even my Pharm friend said shingles vax was worse than covid. But i agree the alternative is much worse

Shingrix #1 affected me for 24h, kinda felt like the side affects of my first mRNA covid shot. Haven’t gotten #2 yet. What’s the science on waiting 6-7 months between shots?

I have an ear infection. I CAN'T HEAR SHIT. Live/loud music is tough to handle..hard to explain. It's like having an ear plug in but it sounds way too loud and distorted.

Rooms with multiple conversations are a nightmare. I can't tell where conversation is coming from.

    Fuck off

I broke my 2nd incisor try to bite off a hunk of a stale roll. It’s a twofer pita because it was the anchor for the bridge with my other front tooth. I really don’t want to have to deal w it and figuring out if a big bridge is doable (dentist says not good) or getting implants ($$$ and tiiiiiime). Fuck.

At least it’s still connected so it’s still there but I can’t Vite into anything now

    meh... gondado

A vote for the implant if you can force it to pencil out.

Similar timetables for effort & recovery, but not long after, you'll want to chew the bone after the fatty steak.

You'll eat better - digest better - feel better - less distraction

    a long-term solution

    Shit that annoys you

I guess. I’ve been totally happy w the bridge I’ve had for 30 years now but my dentist says bridging both central incisors and anchoring to the lateral incisors wouldn’t be strong enough. Idk pretty sure that’s how it was done for decades before implants were invented. It would definitely be quicker repair if possible tho. Weeks vs several months that could stretch out a long time for implants. We’ll see how both math out for money and time this week. Either way looks like I’ll be rocking a flipper for a while. At least it’s a good party trick

I can relate... four sets of teeth and 6 digit $ later

Two 4 tooth bridges anchored by implants and 6 naked implants.

The rest post and cap except my natural lower incisors.

still - abolutely nothing lines up because of a broken jaw

ime, bridges are hit or miss. Sounds like you were in good hands when you got yours.

Yes, more visits, but post visit recovery is shorter-lived for the implants, and you still have to do all the impressions and shaping.
The helicoil placement is invasive but no more uncomfortable than any other type of visit.

My mess took just under 2yrs 6am Thursdays - twice a month to sort.

Forcing it into my calendar was never easy.

The payoff is I'm gonna feel like I can do pull-ups with my teeth until I'm 90

I spit a front temporary across a dining room table and then breaking a wine glass in my hand in an effort to catch it during a home cooked dinner party for 5 couples. All my 2ndX's childhood beasties girls

the Dakotas have the lowest unemployment rate in the nation, everyone who can gets the fuck out, and there’s not much for schools to attract new people.

I’ve never gotten to fondle any fake boobies. My curiosity annoys me.
