Skiing in glue annoyed me yesterday. Actually this was more like skiing in epoxy.

However the view of the big lake they call Gitchee Gummie was not annoying.

He's an actor of the old school--the same no matter what role he's playing. That works when you're Humphrey Bogart, not so much when you're a smug face I want to punch. He's ok when he happens to fit the part and embarrassing when he doesn't. But obviously it's a matter of taste. Speaking of one note actors, I caught parts of several Cary Grant movies on TCM during Oscar month--I hadn't realized how annoying he actually was. I've been ruined for old movies by how good present day acting and screenwriting can be. (Full disclosure--I've never seen a Marvel movie.)

Kevin Costner is another one note actor. He was good in Bull Durham and the Upside of Anger, but although it was a good movie, in Dances With Wolves traumatized civil war vet meets Valley Bro doesn't work. There's a reason he's in a lot of baseball movies.

I've found Jeff Goldbloom to be the same.
Good if he's cast as the crazy chaos scientist, otherwise not so much.
    Super stiff bitd on SNL.

I think they cast him when Alec Baldwin is busy.
Don’t be a snob, Dumb and Dumber is comic genius. He was good in Godless as well as Something Wild

Are you just going to start naming all actors? Costner was good in No Way Out and Mr. Brooks

I'm not a huge fan of Jim Carrey and his comedy but Dumb and Dumber is good.

I'm sorry. That made me laugh. It's really not in the slightest bit funny.

I prefer the ouevre of Ingmar Bergman. (And Laurel and Hardy--about the only thing that made my father laugh.)

I was picking up a six pack and a burrito in SIlverthorne last Thursday when there was a family that came out of the restaurant where the mother had a little girl by the arm sorta dragging her along in an angry fashion. The little girl looked bewildered while the mother was yelling under her breath "you need to learn to be nicer to people who aren't like us". Yup, the mother, who I'll refer to as Karen, was as white as the driven snow. The town was full of people who got kicked off I70 and the Mexican place was full of all stripes and colors. The little girl was probably parroting something she heard at home.

Walking down a sidewalk with my wife and coming upon another couple or group, I always slide in behind my wife to make room. But it's amazing how many people don't do the same. They just stay side by side and assume it's their space. And generally, we're the f'n oldest, not that it makes a difference, but when 20-somethings don't show courtesy it just makes me realize their parents shouldn't have reproduced.

^^ ITs a simple courtesy to move over. Also, motherfuckers who don't hold the door for the folks behind them pisses me off.

Yeah, look 'em directly in the face, and yell "Heads up!"
They usually look confused, and then generally move over. Or just stand still...
