Moved to a new house last fall and had to get a new stove gas stove and get it converted to run on LP. Today I got a whiff of propane today when I was cleaning the stovetop. I have a cheapo gas detector which picked up a leak at the regulator, where the flex line goes into the stove. So I turned off the valve to the stove and called a bunch of plumbers, while obsessively checking the rest of the line that goes to the stove WHICH seems all good since I shut off the valve. Soonest I can get a plumber to check things out is next Wednesday though.

Plumbing is plumbing. Teflon tape/paste and a gas leak detector and a wrench and you got this….

When I recovered my laptop and got it going again, I started getting a warning that my user password would expire and needed to be changed. That's happening every 30 days now. Have read a bunch of different how-to articles on how to change it, and despite being for the same operating system none of them describe the same sequence of menus and options I see when I try to turn it off. Can't find anywhere to turn it off.

The other thing that's happening is everything is now getting backed up to Google OneDrive. I specifically turned that off, or thought I did. Takes up a bunch of bandwidth and I don't exactly trust google with my files. I back everything up myself to an external hard drive.

Syncing of user profiles across devices is another annoying thing I've tried to avoid but seems unavoidable. Had to change a microsoft password after trying to get back on my laptop after it died, then had trouble accessing things on my phone. It seems to mess with all sorts of logins for various things like email, google, microsoft, etc. Each used to have separate logins but with profiles linked seems like now they go off the same password. Hard enough to remember passwords normally, and really doesn't help when you don't know which one to use.

And I've tried a password manager on my laptop. It's not much better. Doesn't save passwords half the time, and tries to save Pin numbers and security codes from 2FA as passwords. I'd ask about other ones out there, but would have to ask about data breaches for them first because they all seem to be getting hit by hackers as well?

    Annoying.

Bro isn't it "Microsoft One Drive"?

Getting really basic, some soap and warm water solution, spread it around. Look for the bubbles.

Holy fuck have people here been trying to date in 2024 the year of our lord Taylor Swift? Was seeing this lady for a couple of weeks and got a call yesterday she’s getting back with her ex. Ok cool, I hop on the apps and set up a date with another caked up baddy for tomorrow and then get a text from her that SHE is also getting back with her ex. What the hell.

    I blame Valentine’s Day.

Have you considered getting back together with your ex?

    Full circle and all that...

Maybe "getting back with her ex" is code for something.
"fuck off you asshat gaper shit for brains fucktard wanker." - Jesus Christ
"She was tossing her bean salad with the vigor of a Drunken Pop princess so I walked out of the corner and said.... "need a hand?"" - Odin

Or the plastic jars where you can't evenly peel up the sealed top and you're left with a ragged on-again/off-again strip all around the rim of the jar? I think it's Kraft Mayo that I've noticed recently. Also peanut butter jars. I'm not usually one to get worked up about this kind of thing, but man, it's been hard to let this go.

I currently only have use of my non-dominant hand, this is especially vexing. Also, have cereal bags become hard to open for everyone?

And chip bags and just about any food in a bag. I keep scissors handy in the kitchen now for food bags, and to punch thru seals like the one that was pissing off KQ.

If you're right handed I hope you know how to use a scissors left handed. If not, the idea is to pull with the thumb and push with the finger(s). Scissors are designed so that when used with the right hand the natural tendency to push with the thumb and pull with the finger)s) which forces the cutting edges together. When used with the left hand the natural tendency forces the edges apart, so they don't cut.

I have been struggling with that my whole life, I’m left handed. Curiously, I have better luck cutting with my L.H. Scissors using my right hand!
