Guy in the ski area parking lot taking off his boots, crouched down right next to the tailpipe of his truck, directly huffing the fumes. Perplexing, yet amusing from a distance.

^ There’s a story there.
On one Silverton trip we made a late booking and had to stay in Ouray, which was kinda cool because of hot springs. Well at about 10pm at night on our last day after dinner and all that my buddy realizes that he left his new skis and boots in a snowbank at the ski area. An hour away over red mountain pass. So we all jumped in the truck and drove back over to get them. Beautiful night, beers for the passengers, good times. We get to the ski area and they are still sitting there in the snowbank right in the middle of the base area. Cant believe no one even touched em
The horse doesn't seem to mind. Neither do the Amish.

Visiting my folks in Wisconsin, saw this legendary temporary memorial while out on a walk.
I’m tempted to change it to a Cowboys helmet for this weekend.

Similar experience for me but it was my babysitter and The Doors “The Soft Parade” album. I was 8 or 9… My wife says that explains a lot about me.

It does. I was amused.
Yes, 10 years later they also encouraged me to forget about college for a while and facilitated my move out West to ski. Even got me a sure thing job tuning skis at the shop they used to manage and a couch to surf for a bit until I figured out housing. Good influences are hard to find… lucky I guess.
My upbringing was like…
Watching that movie was like a PTSD flashback… poor Mitch.
