    Ski The Beav(UT) 2-28/29 2024 A TRG SUMMIT!

What's up Party People. I booked the yurt at The Beav 2 28/29. Wed/Thurs nights.

Accommodations( warm yurt, attached bathrooms cook cabin, and meals) for the duration are on me. I'll do dinner wed, breakfast/dinner thurs, breakfast fri. Beaver says up to 30 ppl in yurt. that would be butts to nuts, i'd imagine 10-20 will show up. i'll be sleeping in my rig, beaver seems to say rvs are fine when booking the yurt. also ppl do overnight in the lot. technically a no, i never saw any enforcement. mellow scene up thar bruv.

    https://www.skithebeav.com/beaver-mountain-yurt/

more details later. buy an indy pass, beav blacks out indy on weekends hence the wed thur fri summit days.

Thanks for setting this up! I'm about 95% sure I'm in.

I think Indy Passes have sold out for the season, but day tickets are only ~$70.

    Word!

The Logan rec center about 40 min away is 25$ a month.5$ per visit. Last season was: wake up in Logan, hot tub, head up to ski, then back to Hot tub. Pretty sure no showers at the beav but will ask.

I will be driving from Jackson to Park City on the 28th. Maybe, I can make a detour and ski Beaver.

Thanks for the generosity and for setting this up.

Food for thought: Pinecreek WY. Open weekends. Cool as hell ppl. Unique.

Could make sense to hit the beav wed/Thur, head to pine Creek Friday.

    About 45 min away.

Skied the Beav for the first time in 30+ years on a big pow day last year after ending up back in my hometown. No more triple bypass burger but a new lift and pocket full of weed made up for it. Oldest continuously same family owned ski area in the U.S.

A dog with nobody to watch him overnight makes the yurt thing difficult. But would enjoy hitting the Beav and/or or Pine Creek for turns. I usually avoid social group stuff, but this is right in my back yard so felt weird not to chime in and say that’s mighty cool of you byates.

I’m an hour from Pine Creek and 1-1/2 from the beav but happy to put people up for a night if it’s on your way and you need a place to bunk. Happy to supply smoke, beers, food, etc.. I’m in Soda Springs, ID

Yeah the dog thing. Just says not in buildings. So if you had an RV could be fine.

I’m in for a day at the beav! Probably can’t pull off both days but would be stoked to spend a day at the beav!

Just depends on the work schedule to figure out which day works best. I’d also like to hit up pine creek if it works out as I’ve been meaning to ski there

The yurt is very close to the base building which has good internet. My cell didn't work there (TMobile) last season but? At night there is no one there but us.

Skinning is allowed anytime. Including open runs /lifts etc.. I saw some dude skin up w alpine clamps the entire hill one morning when the power randomly went out for an hour. No free heel, walking up 1500' w skis skins and alpine clamps. Huh.

There are a few k of Nordic trails that are on the other side of the parking lot. Bring xc skis and take the pup for a spin. The entirety of Logan canyon is a meadow skipping paradise. There are road laps off the summit. Pleasant trees and open fields 1600/2000 to the road. 5 min drive to come get you. No avy control, no real avy terrain. Avy gear still recommend. Gate is always open.

It’s been decades but, Jardine/Juniper trail if closer to Logan and Tony’s Grove further up offer great xc options.

I'm going to see what I can do. Grandparents are from Mendon in Cache Valley and I've always wanted to ski the Beav.
