OK. you have to go through a building.
And you can't ride a bike. When I was a kid we would ride our bike down the steps.

Yes…and I would say hardly anyone uses it. Hence, why I guess everyone is always pissed about crossing the street?

Who knows?…they got a lot more problems to worry about up there than problems crossing a street.

    School district leadership.

Holy shit, we just finished our trips to Chicago and Louisville and we’re just slack jawed at how transportation departments are run in each place.

The former is super reliant on a single guy to manage and update their databases each month, and pay him an insane amount each year (>$500k) to keep them functional so that buses can do their job.

The latter is in complete disarray, with a lack of staffing due to losing a bunch of critical staff. Their system was built by a guy no longer there, and is in life support now by the remaining (hardworking) staff.

In both cases they need a complete revamp of their systems, and in both cases they are facing pressure from the public to “do something” and address their woes. But the leadership in both places are so under-informed and borderline clueless that they are pushing unreasonable solutions and timelines that simply cannot be met.

And they were asking US to help them out. Fuckers. We ain’t going to risk slagging through the mud just so you can fuck up your school transportation further.

    Gaaaahhh.

    Rant over.

I basically grew up on that campus and getting chased by security was just another day for me. No idea why they let me come back and get a degree. Or let one of my kids go there. But, riding mt bikes with a head full of boomers and a good buddy in a raging snow storm with gobs of fresh snow on the ground and catching air off the berms between the lot levels at Gutterson long before they built the parking garage was all time. We rode all over the city that night. It was hero snow and we were 19 and invincible!

Louisville school system has been horrible forever. I can't imagine how any student could thrive in that system. I had distant cousins there in the early 80's. They were a grade apart and didn't go to the same high school. And the schools were on opposite sides of town.

Fuck Audible and in turn fuck Amazon. Fucking fucks have been charging me $14.95 a month (I’m a moran and never saw the charges). I didn’t even have a fucking account with Audible.

The lady on the phone kept asking who else in the house could have done it. Listen fuck face the kid didn’t do it and my partner and I have a joint account separate from my personal one. In short fuck right off.

The good news is the intertoobz are full of similar stories, so at least I’m not the only idiot.

Plenty of times I'll show full bars on Verizon and it's so slow I can barely pull up email or basic web sites. Then I'll be somewhere else with 1-2 bars and it is blazing fast. What's annoying is it is very slow where I live, so I have to use my own wifi.

We were at a super crowded fair last Sunday, I had 3 bars most of the time but couldn't open anything. I think what's going on when this happens is that yes, you are connected but there's no bandwidth left. Calls would go through but there was a long delay.

@Riser4 thats a flashback! I walked through that tunnel plenty when I lived in Harris 1995. And yes, UVM is only sorta a state school. I'm guessing its worse now?

I liked it a lot more living off campus at Pearl and Winooski kitty corner from the OP and deli. Those were good times.

You know what is a new trend n youth soccer in SLC that drives me up the wall? I've seen this 4 or 5 times now this season, (and not seen or heard it prior). Parents bringing big ass boom boxes to play music before the game, at halftime etc. Some fuckin dude rolled up and right after my daughters game ended he hit play and started pumping out cotton eyed Joe for everyone to hear at 9am. He stood around looking all proud of himself. Annoying as fuck.

What kind of jackass would just pull up to a gate like this- with all that signage- park his car and walk away?

Luckily he was nearby taking fall foliage pictures with his family by the lake so I got him to move pretty fast. They may have detected how annoyed I was.

    Ppphhhttt.
It didn't actually SAY no parking now did it?

I confronted a pair of know-it-all youngsters parked like that with "NO PARKING UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, EMERGENCY ACCESS ONLY" signs, took photos and everything, they just laughed and said "OK Boomer", so I kicked their off-leash dog which was jumping all over some small children.

The most popular hiking trailhead in the Truckee area, clearly lined for head in parking with no parking elsewhere along the road on either side. 2 cars occupying 5 spaces, with the other dozen or so spaces filled.

There actually is a no parking sign on the middle of the cable. Can’t see it in the pic.

I keep a valve core remover in the door pocket for times like this. Remove two. It really fucks their day up.

I always have one as well.
Wanna really fuck their day up just a shade more? Remove two, and ream the valves out so you can’t thread in another core.
Remember, always put the valve cover back on!

I can’t even imagine pulling valve cores.

    Dogshit handles is entertaining.

What about a grease pencil to scribble a message on the windows? Express your anger. Without really fucking up their car or travel.
Imagine coming back from an exhausting ride or hike and having two flats. That would suck. And they might not even get your message.
You could key their car with a nice Nantucket pinstripe. But again. They just think it’s vandals.
Use words. Either a note under the wiper that they are assholes. Or a grease pencil to make them suffer later to clean it off.

I came very close to writing "not a parking space" in mud on a windshield recently. My hands were already kinda muddy, and they had parked partially blocking a woods road that is both non motorized recreational trail and forestry road to an active woodlot. Aside from triggering my OCD about dumb tourist parking, the idiots weren't doing those of us who like that access point any favors, as the access up that woods road to public land is by grace of the owners, and I'm pretty sure there's no easement.

I was kinda wishing the owners would need to get a skidder through, because I expect the car would've been in a different location afterwards.
