I have an LG dryer that just decides when things are "dry". And it seemingly cannot be bypassed. Blankets and loads of towels often have to be started 5 plus times. And that's after selecting a timed dry cycle and not the auto cycle. I wanted a speed queen but it wouldn't fit through the basement door. Fuck that dryer.

I have an LG dryer too - I only seem to get unfinished drying when using the sensor (humidity sensor?) and things like a big load of towels.

    Is the exhaust duct clear?

My frigidaire has a leak from some defroster drain on the ceiling of the fridge. Supposedly the fix is yo defrost to get rid of the ice plug. The leak is just minimal enough to aggravate and have to wipe the top tray in the morning but not so bad I’m thrilled about about a half day defrosting project

The airflow outside seems good, maybe I need a deeper investigation?

Last winter, I pulled the dryer out away from the wall and disconnected the exhaust hose to clean in there -- it hadn't been removed and cleaned since I installed it, about 8 years earlier. The lint wasn't too bad... but there was a desiccated corpse of a squirrel in there too. Yuck.

I'm going to pull the dryer and clean out that exhaust more frequently now.

If you can, somehow take a look down the exhaust duct with a flashlight. Some dryers have a “plugged duct” warning light. But, towels are a big lift if that’s all that’s in the load.

Dryer vent cleaning is no joke. We just replaced a portion of the vent pipe that was completely full of loose material. It should scare every last one of you.

Fuck LG dryers. Tired of my wife’s complaining. But she’s right.

And fuck their front loaders as well. It smells like a subway piss wet dog combination.

Electric leaf blower from the inside out. Works a treat. Our LG will tell you when the vent is blocked. I'll usually bump the "Dry Level" button once or twice before I start an automatic cycle.

Is cleaning dryer vents as simple as sticking shop vac hose in there or is there more to it?

Depends. On how clogged it is. I stuck a vacuum cleaner in both ends a couple times since we moved here. And there was a section of pipe that was still full of shit, probably 30 years worth. I've been here 22.

Lowball offers that start with “I don’t mean to insult you” and continue with misrepresenting the product for sale. It’s as shipped from the mfg, if you don’t like that, that’s your issue.

If it’s gunked on, you need a rotating brush or something to dislodge it. Just did that task myself yesterday. Pulled the cover off the internal vent opening and scooped that out too

Mrs. Mtnjam and I love the SpeedQueen, never have had any problems with them, just keep them maintained and clean.

I got one of those offers from a medical imaging company the hospital I work at is associated with. The line went, "we can't pay you as much as the hospital, I hope you understand, but our benefits would make up for the discrepancy".
I laughed at them and didn't bother to reply much considering how insulting the lowball offer to an experienced technologist with over 20 years of experience in the field was. Pretty much would have made easily 1/3 less than my current hourly rate and NO the benefits did NOT make up for the discrepancy. Funny thing is now, the company who I only contract with for 1 day of labor per week is bitter that I didn't come to work for them.

I'm just happy I can buy either a white or black six foot tall nutcracker at my local big box store. Murica!

Driving with my father in law for the first time. He is one of those people who thinks his pickup truck is a sports car. Floors it and slams on the brakes. Passes on the right. 85 in a 65 and has no sense of predicting slower moving cars.

I hope we get pulled over.

My wife drives like an impatient idiot also which is why I drive 99.9% of the time.
