Tomorrow or Tuesday, that's the question... looking like storm will blow through by mid day and winds not too high, nor is forecasted amount of snow so likely alpine will open... that's my guess anyway. Today looked pretty dope, friend posted some nice turns off Flute and bumps looked good but busy Lee?

Any of you Squamptonians or City folk have any info on how Tantalus is shaping up? I can't imagine its caked, but I saw some photos on SCT and it didn't look terrible. Its been a while since i've left the bubble south bound so am paying the price of that.

Funny day yesterday, fast pow in the morning mid-mountain and Harmony (could feel old surface), sun came out for a bit so did two laps on Flute with awesome snow. Second lap that power flurry storm around 1pm came through and was just zero vis skiing by braille type feeling. Vis cleared again, made my way over to Peak and somehow found the best snow of the day on T-bar headwall and untracked lines in Xmas trees at 2:30pm? Should've just gone to Peak right away, which was a duh in hindsight given FL and wind.

Anyone know if there’s any highlights or winning runs from FWT today?

Nice dude. Found a livestream link on IFSA YouTube but it says blocked in your country by WMG. Will try a VPN later.

Looking at a trip 3/26-29 with the wife who can’t ski and my 6yo. Plan to ski with the little guy part time and solo part time. Want a place with a pool and hot tub and quiet.
How is the walk from slope side in blackcomb to the upper village? Looking at the aspens vs glacier lodge.

Also 6yo is happy on east wide blues, where on the mountain should I take him?

Aspens is ski-in/ski-out with a nice pool area. I'd say the downside is it's a ways up the hill, so it's a bit longer bus ride to get there or a bit of a slog walking uphill from the Upper Village when you aren't skking directly to it. Whereas the Glacier Lodge is a much easier walk to the main village and it's convenient to the Blackcomb gondola. You don't really need the bus at all if you stay there, but it's not ski-in, ski-out.

For nice blues go to Green and Red chairs on Whistler. Most of the runs going to Green chair are greens, but I'd say they'll feel more like blues to most. For a bit more adventure head out to Symphony. On Blackcomb there's some really good cruising going down to Exelerator and also the gondola mid-station, however be careful because those are both major upload lifts in the morning. My favorite for wide-open cruising is Crystal.

We (Me, wife and son, now 9) Stay at Glacier Lodge pretty much yearly. We stayed in Aspens one year as well. Aspens is marginally nicer and quieter, but with the kiddo it is SO much easier to be right in the upper village at glacier lodge. You or your wife can run out to the store super quick for food, booze, etc and be back in a second. Portobello's is right across the pedestrian area and is an awesome casual place to eat with family. The walk to the gondola is minimal and all in the pedestrian area. Lots of families at Glacier, too, and my son always meets kids at the pool to hang with.

Also recommend putting the kiddo in a day of ski school if you can swing it. You can drop him right at backcomb base there and they do an awesome job with the kids. We're east coasters and my son would be wicked intimidated by the size of the mountain if he was only with me and my wife, but with the ski school it's completely different.

Anyway, we'll be up at glacier lodge April 11 and 12 this year and I can't wait.

The entire event is posted on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ld4eSi20ogw. The event was livesteamed using a StarLink rig which is new. A lot of Whistler events now use QR codes and links to Google Docs to distribute start lists and results.

I have no idea if the video is blocked by region.

    Stayed at Glacier Lodge Mon-Thurs

Super convenient and The Fitzsimmons pub just downstairs is a hidden gem

Closed it down Tuesday and Wednesday

Wife decided on aspens to have a quieter view while we ski.
Anyone want to grab a few laps on the 26/27/28th?

It trully is. Gear is light but still shreds, passes are cheap and cornices are way more resilient. That track is not from today, is it?

Been in the interior past week+ and got pretty warm. How firm is Whistler skiing right now? Basically just asking if it's soft at all and at what point or is it refreeze to the top?

    Thanks.

Very tracked out, but north facing was soft and surprisingly good Wednesday. South facing was shitty refrozen crud.

We used to boot the spine or the fingers pretty regularly back in the day. Spine much more often than fingers though lol

Heading up tomorrow and deciding what skis to bring. Forecast looks sunny so I’m guessing my bonafides will be the right option. Any soft snow for the goats left? I’m inclined to bring options since we are driving.
