No I was on Praxis with the black snake topsheet and a half green/half orange jacket skiing with 3 others. Maybe it wasn't you guys but looked like those outfits and taking photos in that exact spot. Really fun and pretty in there with all the blowing snow

so, coming out for a 3 day trip...with respect to lift tickets, no real options other smile and take it right? Looks like I get a little discount off the ridiculous rack rate if I buy at least 7 days in advance, but that's it.

It definitely felt more like 8" than 5", which is kinda rare with regards to the snowmass stake.

I find that the snowmass stake is a pretty good representation of what fell, and can usually find aspects on the mountain holding more snow. Plus, report was at 5 and it was snowing 1.5"/hour at that point.

Most premier pass holders have 1/2 price tickets.. know anyone?

I thought I was out but I've got one discounted day left on mine you can have. It's all electronic from their app now so if you PM your cell I can just text it to you.

    Ditto.

    When you coming out?
The later in the season, the more likely people are willing to part with vouchers.

    Skiings really good!

Haven’t been getting enough Ajax laps in recently, but damn it’s skiing well! I got for a afternoon session yesterday, poking around on steeper lines and everything was great - Anaconda, Bingo, Rayburns/Cone1, Pinball, Traynor. T1 totally untracked!

I'll be skiing Saturday Feb 18 through Monday Feb 20. Maybe a short day on Tuesday too before flying out. Getting to town Friday afternoon staying near Lift One. If anyone is willing and able to help with lift tickets, PM me. Same if you want to grab a happy hour beer somewhere over the weekend. I've met mags in several places, but don't think I have met a RFV mag yet.

Joey Joe, I PMd you my phone number this a.m.

Mr. Mike, if by any chance you are a season pass holder at a ‘Premier Partner’ resort - like Alta, Snowbird, JH, etc. you get half price tickets at Aspen. It’s funny how paying $100+ at the window for a day ticket is psychologically acceptable to me now. I’m ok with $40 for lunch at Bonnie’s too once or twice a season.

Did some cardio this morning. 44 minutes from the starting point for the cat pickup to the top. Not great, especially since the patroller who strolled up a few minutes later congratulated the touron he brought with him in sub-30. But maybe that was from the drop off point for the cat. At least that's what I am going to tell myself to feel better about sucking wind at 12k feet.

You RFV mags can all thank me later if we get a decent amount of snow over the next few days. I left my powder boards at home...

Don't sweat that, man - it'll be Rocky Mountain cold smoke and it'll be just as easy to ski in whatever skinny-assed skis you *did* bring.

Haha! That's what I'm hoping for! I brought the Salmon S2, 178cm touring skis. (100mm under foot.) So far so good.

44 is solid and above average I’d say. What’s your boot bsl?

Some snow coming tonight and again Tuesday-Wednesday. I think we’ll see 8-10” up high, but could be 20” with the right winds

European Ensemble is looking pretty pretty promising for the next couple weeks. Hopefully it aims straight for the Maroon Bells. Please please please...

How is the bowl skiing now? Hiked it a couple laps to the G zones last time out there I think in 2012. I'm out of shape now but would still want to hit that later this week .

My better 2/3rds getting first tracks.

Then the heavens opened up and it started dumping. Another 4" and it just kept getting better.

    Tomorrow should be fun.

Yes, first run of the morning.

I think this is Dallas Freeway at about 2pm.

I did a few laps around Sam's Nob at the end of the day, and it was stellar top of the boot blower. Just ride on laps with no one around. Love this place!

Bill Janass, Snowmass’s developer, is credited with having the first Sno Cat operation in North America, in 1964. They would bring up potential home buyers, including lots of Texas oil money, to see the potential ski resort. Most couldn’t ski powder, so they skied down the cat track, which became Dallas Freeway.
Bill also hired Stein Erickson as ski school director and Peter Dahl was his assistant. I’m having dinner with Peter and Christine tonight at the Maroon Creek Club.

I’m happy to ski with Maggots. I’m out early everyday, but often don’t know where until 6-7am.
PM me your # the night before and I’ll at least point you in the right direction.

2” of snow and not currently snowing. We’re getting really soft on these school delays.

Appreciate the offer Shredhead, I'll def give you a shout. Always appreciate the local Mag ambassadors, had a great time making turns w the Jackson mags earlier this year.

So time for the dumb Touron questions: The wife and I managed to score a free room from work points at the St.Regis , so walk to Ajax , does the bus stop nearby get to and from.
Snowmass and Highlands fairly easily? We don't have a car booked.

Any can't miss NSR tips? Really loved the skiing and town last time there but it was a little over 10 yrs ago and I'm sure things are different town wise. What's the best non-douchey places to grab a drink now apres and later? Caught moe. at the Belly Up last time which was amazing, but looking for this weekend its spendy for nothing great or sold out so that doesn't look to be in the cards.

Thanks for humoring the dumb questions .
