Parking lots. Californiagrown can probably speak to this better but I suspect they are using design standards for slow speeds (10mph or less) which reduces sight line requirements coupled with having to meet development storm water treatment and landscaping (trees) requirements which takes up surface area and thus the available space for parking so they reduce stall and aisle width to cram as many in as possible.

My gripe is usually that people are driving way to fast.

In your lifted F350 or lowered Honda civic with heavily tinted windows and stickers on the windshield with horrible sight lines presumably.

Two things affect parking lot layouts (beyond owners putting as little money into them as possible [or not]):

    1) jurisdictional requirements: zoning, landscaping, screening, storm retention, parking min/max #’s, etc

    2) “level of service” is the conscious design decision to either cram them in with sociopathic efficiency or allow some comfort to users, which may affect anger as they arrive/leave/shop/etc: affects density, stall size, aisle size, turning radii, vehicle allowances (trucks/vans designed out of using the lot?), heights even, etc…

I park as close to the entrance and as far from the stores as I can. Saves a lot of headaches. If you want a fun parking lot, try the Sacramento Sunday farmers' market under the freeway (if Cal trans ever gets done working on the freeway and lets the market back in.) All the hassles of a crowded, poorly laid out lot with half the cars drving in the wrong direction, augmented by really loud, really bad drumming.

FIFY. I’ve had people behind me singing so out of tune I was tempted to turn around and say, “I’m glad you know the words, but I’m sad you don’t know that your singing sucks.”

TJ picks the worst most crowded and poorly designed locations.
I wanna party with their site acquisition team, but I think they’d smoke me into oblivion

Best thing about our local TJs is that it’s a five minute walk from my house. No parking needed.

    Sorry about your wife, though.

Nah. Ryan Adams best song is ‘(Everything I do) I do it for you’, so they were probably calling for that.

    Robin Hood, great movie.

Popes annoy me. Why does anyone who is not an observant Catholic care about them? Why are they front page news? They seem to have no real influence in the world outside the church. The 6 Catholics on the SCOTUS seem to be a lot more conservative than the current Pope--so no significant papal influence there. On the other side of the spectrum neither Pelosi nor Biden seem to care what the Pope thinks either. If we're going to worry about a religious leader it should be the Ayatollah or the head of the Russian Orthodox church.

    That shirt is awesome.

Btw. Russian orthodox is more catholic than the papacy in Rome.

The Catholic Church is the world's largest bureaucracy, with a huge financial footprint world-wide and it does have its own nation-state. So its impact extends a bit beyond believers.

A 10th of the vaue of Facebook, and ti's value is mostly in non-liquid assets. (But it is 5 times the worth of the church of Scientology.) That beaurocracy has a lot of empoyees but has no real effect outside the faithful and it pretty much runs on its own with little involvement of the Pope and little change from Pope to Pope. He does not function as a chief executive. When it does change it's because of outside pressure due to corruption and sex scandals. Lichtenstein has a nation too. No, I don't see the Pope being deserving of the outside attention he gets. (At least when we talk about Popes we don't have to worry about pronouns.)

I get why the OG is annoyed. FWIW The Pope is in agreement with Joe. They both agree that in the matters of an individuals faith, it is not their place to judge.

Fucking skiers who congregate at the start of the maze and wait, making it impossible to not only enter said maze but definitely not carry speed. WTF?

I’m annoyed I don’t have the disposable income like the guy a street over.

The fireworks show he put on was like nothing I’ve seen from “just a neighbor”. Hot damn that was cool. Had to be over 5 grand. Our old friends 2 doors over spent a grand one year for the 4th and I thought that was cool. This was pretty insane.

This is the universe telling you that fat free milk is disgusting. Just drink water ffs

My old boss had like 8 kids and his wife would buy vitamin D milk and watered it down to make it last. I don't remember the last time I drank milk but when I was a kid I would probably drink a gallon a day.
