    Ukraine.

Basically he refused to believe that he was the victim of disinformation and was convinced that everyone -I mean, everyone- else was instead. He never could back down gracefully, so it proceeded from there.

Same. He was that grumpy friend that always made you laugh by the end of the night. And then he ran out of weird charm and jokes.

I didn’t find the racism or misogyny or the talk about “jail bait” charming or funny or in line with “just that old grumpy guy” talk.

Yeah, put me in that camp as well. Your angry funny uncle who'd go off on the smallest stuff, and held very specific grudges, but generally shook it off and moved on.

But the stubborn self-immolation at the end was really something.

edit: I put the jail bait photo shoot in the melt-down phase

Okay, since my analogy didn't take off...I never had a problem with him and actually kinda liked his schtick until he recently went off the rails. You can lower your pitchfork now.

Benny went on a road trip and snapped a pic of slopeside bikini top snow bunnies and thought he was cool. Then their dudes rolled in and told him it wasn't cool. Then he posted the pics to make sure people on the internet thought he was cool. Really, none of this was cool whether you were Benny, the snow bunnies, or their gerbrony boyfriends. Welcome to Aspen.

was not specifically directed at you - but the racism and misogyny was around for a decade in here. It’s not a recent derailment.

I'm moving on from this after this but the "jail bait photo shoot" was one pic of three young women in their 20's on the hill in bikini tops. Two of the women, at least, clearly knew their picture was being taken and were smiling at the camera. The third woman's eyes are averted but she also seems to be smiling. I wouldn't have taken it, much less posted it, but it was hardly pedophilia and they were definitely not jail bait.

Accusations of racism and misogyny, I dunno. I don't recall seeing that but would say that now is a little late to be calling it out if it was there and I don't recall seeing that either.

I think we are in a similar spot and after skiing with Benny a day, I liked him. He never annoyed me and if he was on a weird tangent, I skipped over it like I will for most anyone not on ignore. We all poat something that annoys someone. Anyways, I will let this go now.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

It was called out. Repeatedly. Because it happened. Repeatedly. For years.

It’s ok it you didn’t see it. Lots of us did and have mentioned it here. Why some of you find it hard to believe that he could post those things given what else you’ve seen is beyond me (and given his ongoing meltdown - including this thread).

It’s not something that a nice day of skiing would excuse for me. The “oh it must just be because he wasn’t one of the cool kids” is just being in denial.

Anyone have real estate info to share? Been following the local market for a couple years and for the first time am seeing multiple houses get relisted with lower prices (over the last month)

Anyway. Talked to two neighbors on our street who are selling this week. One of them have been in their house for 26 years. Bought it for $200k. Should list for ~$2M. Nice house but nothing special. The other will list for well over that and the people selling have been there for 2.5 years. Probably at least $650k profit. Should be interesting to see how long it takes them to sell. With all the talk of the market slowing down, they both sounded nervous, like they weren't going to be able to sell or *GASP* they wouldn't make enough money off the sell! Ugh, so funny. Like if you don't make millions off the sale of your home you are some kind of failure to society. hilarious. I hope they both get screwed honestly.
Are they planning to buy a new place in the same area with the proceeds? Because if they are, not walking away with stupid money seems to be a legit concern.

My parents' house easily would've sold for three, maybe four times what they paid for it at times in the past couple of years. It still wasn't going to be enough to be worth the hassle of moving, because everything else nearby has also escalated, and the ideal place for them (small, well-maintained place in the village center) is damn near impossible to come by.

To be fair, there are numerous examples in the animal kingdom of homes being status symbols (Bower birds, etc). People are ultimately slaves to our biology.

I've noticed that realtors in Helena are putting house ads in the local paper again, and also posting them on social media more aggressively. They haven't had to bother with that for the past couple years.

summit county real estate is getting soft inventory is going up but still not a massive ammount of property on the market

but the out of hand prices are still stoopid
two million dollars should buy you a three car garage brand new kitchen and baller bathrooms with a spacious living room and a view
so many of these people think they can sell a house for two million with no garage or shitty one you can only get one car in with finishes from 1994 roof that has five or so years left on it and windows that are worthless
buyers are getting smart and aren't going to dump big money for shit holes
prices are starting to drop very very slowly and very little but they are not coming back down to earth quick enough
but people think they still have something special ooops if you bought in the past two years

it's alot like 2006 someone sells a pimp condo for $800.00 sq ft so the neighbors shithole straight out of 1985 thinks he can get 800 sq ft and guess what some dumb ass buys is
    I blame realtors
they are fading like car salesman

Most people looking for multi-million dollar homes, want a minimum of 3 car garage. At least around here in Bend. You have to have room for all the outdoor toys and/or exercise area. Toured a $2.5 million open house that had a separate gym in the house, but only a 2 car garage. It's been on the market for 3 months. Plus it doesn't have a master walk-in closet. WTF? Who builds a $2 million plus house and doesn't have a walk in closet in the main suite?
