I've established a tuning/waxing/repair service out of my dorm floor's common room to make a little extra money. $15 for a tune, $15 for a wax, $3 per inch of p-tex, $5 per inch of metal grip. I've been shocked by how little care some dudes pay to their sticks. It seems like every other ski has a coreshot from 2 seasons ago that has just been waxed over intermittently. One guy had a pair of season old R11s with a delam underfoot. Knew about it but figured he'd just trash them when it got too bad to ignore. Had to convince him that he should let me repair it.
I recently upgraded from some old swix diamond stones to Tools4Boards Hones and I highly recommend. Also just got a set of rotobrushes and will never go back. I'm currently using Purl wax as it is the cheapest I can buy in relative bulk (1lb). Yellow for hot waxing and a combination of purple and blue for the final.
I'll post some pics when I get back from winter break.
