According to the past 19 pages.

Another cheap Amsterdam and Polar on the deck after a walk with the dog. Might splurge and get something good memorial day weekend to celebrate being allowed "out" again.

It’s not a g&t but a friend likes this purple gin, and I made a martini. It’s a bit disconcerting, and just between us it’s pretty meh gin. But hey, it’s kind of pretty in a grape soda way.

Blue is way over hyped and way overpriced. Dumping it in a coke is fitting.

It's like Bombay here too. Oppressively hot and sticky, and my Indian neighbors are having a backyard cookout.

Use as many garnishes as you want, just don't use cucumber (Beelzebub's boogers).

Poor tgapp, is your vagina dry? That drink looks good to me. At least he didn’t start a cunty thread about not being cunty. You’ve got the market cornered for sure

Hey man, I'm really sorry that my desire to contribute cool shit upsets you so badly. You do you though - I don't want my stoke, pounds of free coffee, or bomb-ass recipes to get in the way of your alcoholic misanthropy. Keep on cunting up threads, bitching about shit and offering little to nothing constructive or helpful - I'll be out skiing and doing cool shit.

I can't say you've got the market cornered on that here, but you do do a damn fine job. You and glade probably get along splendidly.

Current selection. The Hills & Harbour from Scotland uses seaweed and fir needles. The Whitley Neil uses Baobab fruit and gooseberries from South Africa.

I'm drinking them on the rocks with fruit or cucumber or whatever is closest when I open the fridge. Sometimes pour some tonic in there.

Life is short - drink what you like how you like!

    Left to right -

Botanist by Bruichladdich. My favorite Scottish gin, and one of the best gins of all time IMO.
Amethyst - out of Leavenworth, WA. Subtle notes of lavender in an otherwise classic London dry make for a fantastic G&T
Automatic - from Oakland, CA. Seaweed-flavored gin in a grape spirit base. Excellent G&T for pairing with seafood.
Old Tomcat - Barrel-aged old tom gin; tastes like honey and vanilla and sweet juniper with a little bit of an oak bit. Really lovely stuff.
Minthe - thought not technically a gin, it is VERY close (imagine a gin that had mint as the primary botanical instead of juniper). Makes a great G&T knockoff, or a ton of other drinks as well (strawberry minthe margaritas)

Oh man - those all sound great (I've only had the Botanist from your list) - especially the Tom Cat and the Minthe - did not know about tom gin.

I might have gin for lunch now.

yeah so old tom gins were traditionally a working class spirit that was made from the "tails" of the still run (a run usually has heads, hearts, and tails, with the hearts being the most desirable part, the head being the part that makes you go blind, and the tails being the gross part that'll still fuck you up). because the tails were full of off-flavors, they made a gin from it, added a bunch of extra sweetener, and then aged them in ex-whisky barrels to get rid of the off-tastes that are inherent in the tails of a distillation.

they've made a comeback in recent years because they are so different than london dries - the newest generation of old toms are made with the hearts, and they're a premium offering. the best drink to make with them is a martinez (see the cunty thread), but they make for an excellent and very different g&t as well (sweet, honey like). the most common old tom in the states is one by Ransom (great juice - out of Oregon - phenomenal distillery), but the Old Tom Cat is the best example of the class IMO. St. George also has a great one.

Cool - thanks for the lesson! Will definitely be picking up some. My wife loves gin and this tom gin sounds like something she will really get into.
