There are some seriously dumb people out there. Me and some friends were skiing up at billy's bowl, hitting jumps and rails, when we hear a loud bang like a firecracker. But it wasn't a firecracker. FUCKING BULLETS START WHIZZING BY, HITTING THE SNOW NEXT TO US! There were 3 or 4 shots, and we all had bullets hit less than a few feet from us. We start yelling to tell the fucking idiots that they were shooting at people. It was intense. Got a serious adrenaline rush.

We ran over to some trees and called the cops, who decided it wasn't worth their time to do shit about this.

What do you guys think of this, idiots shooting guns and the cops not giving a shit?

You fail to include some of the most important details. What led to this happening, ie, what basic firearms rules did they fail to obey, or were they just shooting at you for shiggles? Did they fail to realize what was behind their target, or just see movement and fail to identify what kind of animal they were shooting at? Did you return fire? That is the surest way to make sure they know you're human. Did you communicate with them at all after that? Curious.


I once had some idiots on dirtbikes blast right by both sides of me headed downrange when I was actively shooting an 8 shot 357 revolver. Gun raised, pointed at my target (with a safe backstop) had already fired one shot, when four idiots on dirt bikes blast by me on both sides, no warning, across a field with no trail on it at all, headed straight downrange. I was tempted to fire a shot into the ground just to scare some sense into them. Then ended up riding to the end of the field, right next to my target, turning around and coming back, with stupid looks on their faces. I think they just wanted to prove that they had the right.


Also, the cops can't do anything about this. Its basically your word against the guys with guns. What are the cops going to do, get a forensic team to analyze trajectories and dig projectiles out of the ground all to establish that these guys weren't being safe? There are plenty of gun hating crazy assholes out there that are plenty willing to fabricate stories such as yours (not saying you did) and have no problem wasting the cops' time just to fuck with a gun owner. If no harm was done everyone should consider themselves lucky, and these guys should be scared enough that they will be a lot more careful in the future. Sucks you had to experience this, but life goes on, luckily.

I too once had a bullet nearly kill me. I was walking down a street and was in the wrong place as one guy pulled a gun on another. The other guy grabbed his arm and pushed the gun toward the ground. The gun fired and it was determined that the bullet hit the ground between my legs

I used to love every fall back in NH when the recent crop of immigrant massholes would freak the fuck out during hunting season cause people were carrying guns and actually shooting them!

Point of the story is, if your out in the woods, especially during hunting season, people shoot fucking guns. They don't just sell them as stimulation for redneck red dreams.

They had to have been firing across the road or from it, which I know is a violation of forestry service laws. I think I've also read something that shooting firearms within the ski area is also forbidden. We never came in contact with them, other than yelling for them to stop, so I don't know where they were aiming. I'm assuming that they were out shooting for shits and giggles and picked a terrible spot to shoot.

If we had a gun, we sure as shit would have fired a few back (or at the ground) to get their attention. One of us was actually just talking about buying a gun shortly before this happened. A gun is now at the top of his shopping list.

Some Dude wanted to play movie stunt driver with traffic the other day on I70 west in his gold BMW. Asshole cut me off too, so I followed him to his house and scared the shit out of him. Cops came, took my video of him almost killing a family of four and arrested him.

My inbred neighbor was cleaning a gun one evening two summers ago; he went outside and fired a few rounds to make sure it was ejecting properly. Being a complete idiot, he didn't pick his firing direction very well, and shot through my backyard, leaving a hole in my garage door; the bullet then dented my Tundra's tailgate, hit a piece of plywood (leaving a perfect indent - hello, CSI) and landed on the garage floor. I came out the next morning and found the gleaming bullet just lying there.

I went up to his place and asked if he'd been shooting the night before; "Yeah, I was cleaning my pistol."
"I think you left this in my garage," I said while holding up the bullet. His face went completely ashen as his stupidity slowly dawned on him. He ended up paying for a new door; the Tundra dent I let go.

That bullet narrowly missed my bedroom and back porch, where my dogs were chillin'. Stupid fucker.
