Video Editing Jobs Specific to Winter Sports/Outdoor Lifestyle

    Hey everyone,

So I've been a lurking member for a little bit now but never commented or posted anything, this will be a first.

I have some questions about potential production jobs outside of the normal places like NYC and LA (I've done both and would love to relocate to places like Jackson, Vail etc.) If anyone has any advice or maybe even connections I'd love to hear what you have to say.

I've been working in Television for about 5 years, 3 of which I have spent in Post-Production as an Assistant Editor/Editor for major TV shows on networks like Discovery, Animal Planet, A&E and more. So I definitely know my way around editing software and computers.

Thanks in advance for any advice that comes my way!

    Kyle

Google production companies that produce television content out west, and apply for a job. There are ones that edit shows for Discovery, Nat Geo, etc. in small ski towns and big ski cities. Watch the end credits of Discovery or whatever shows you like to see who is producing them.

You say ,"I have some questions" but don't list any.

We're doing more and more of that at TGR... I believe there's actually an opening for an editor for TV series here: http://www.tetongravity.com/company/jobs

    Ryan,

I actually saw that and applied last week! Looking forward to hearing back soon.

I guess my only real question would be how do I break into the action sports video industry? I've been doing reality for a while with the intention of combining my passion for the outdoors and snowboarding with my skills in both field production and post production. Thank you all for the awesome replies.
