These lists are for pansies that need a magazine to tell them what's difficult.
seriously. i have skied at various mountains for years and never know what the runs are called. if you can't figure out where you need to go on the ski hill then you probably are going to kill yourself on the drive home.

You see if you have not skied on powder before, it is not that wonderful thing everyone makes it out to be. Skiing in powder is different than skiing on groomers and if you have not done it before you are up to a challenge. It is a new skill in itself that must be developed. I wondered out loud why the unruly powder had not been groomed and my instructor informed me that most pass holders frowned on them grooming the powder, so they don’t really do it. I understood, but this definitely did not make things easier on us."

Regarding silverton it should be there before aspen, but I kinda like goldenboy's blog post tearing it apart - http://14erskiers.com/blog/2009/06/t...rton-mountain/
Hey thanks for posting this link, nice read, and it put me in mind of the discussion we had back in 2004 http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...-me-BLUE-BALLS

Jen got kinda miffed at the tone of the whole thread and I just felt so bad about it that I wrote some fluff to make up for it. Reposted it today here http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...g-this-weekend

Many of you know I've been skiing Utah rather than San Juan's. I found Snowbird a bigger challenge than Alta, but Alta is my fav of course. Not because I think of it as challenging, rather because I think it feels sooooooo good to ski the powder there.

For challenge I can't help but think of Jackson. I think of Jackson every day. So much I want to move there next year. But if I move there I won't be at Alta.
    Gaaaaah, so torn.

Ski mag might be retarded but thinking about where you will be most fulfilled as a skier is not.

Dude, I ski the north face of the Eiger as a warm up run...

Seriously, I'm not sure what's lamer: Ski magazine itself or the people who have to point out how lame Ski magazine is.
