Nothing wrong with some good old-fashioned classic longboarding in the classic surf town of Byron Bay in New South Whales, Australia. The long-standing tradition of surfing in Byron Bay has been appreciated and carried on by locals and tourists for decades, but the relatively young Byron Bay Surf Festival (est. 2010) does a stellar job of bringing the surf community together for a weekend of splashing and dancing through the waves and celebrating the culture of surf and ocean love that is integral to the Aussie way of life. Check out the highlights from round one of the longboard portions of the festival here and stay tuned for the rest of the competition highlights!
