Just a few short months ago, The North Face’s mountaineering dream team of Conrad Anker, Jimmy Chin, Hilaree Nelson and Jim Morrison got some really good quarantine practice in. In January 2020, the crew spent several weeks on Antarctica’s Mt. Vinson climbing and skiing new lines. What happened during the expedition went from seemingly inevitable success story to one of survival and battling the elements to get back home safely. Sounds like something this crew is pretty used to, with Anker and Chin’s Meru adventure and Morrison and Nelson’s Lhotse adventure in the rearview mirror. It’s worth mentioning that Nelson took over as TNF athlete team captain from Anker in 2018.
With COVID-19 keeping the athletes grounded the for time being, they managed to get together virtually to do some storytelling via video conference. Listen in as the crew chats about their careers and what went down in Antarctica. It’s an intimate look inside an expedition that yet again pushed the boundaries of possibility.
