As a helicopter guide you are continually documenting daily activities such as environmental conditions, helicopter time used, fuel status, group location, ect. This requires a guide to continually remove and replace their guide book from a pocket over the day. In addition, big mountain guides wear harness when working so pockets must be positioned out of the way of the harness for access. For me I like pants with cargo pockets over the thigh. Armada has placed the pockets mid-thigh below the leg loop of the harness. Constructed of heavy DryRex 3L and inner leg venting options, the pants function well for guides. In my experience these pants have major zipper durability issues, but I believe Armada is aware of the problem and is working on a solution.
