First Nor’Easter Predicted to hit East Coast by Weekend

It's looking like a rainy, windy weekend on the East Coast. The Weather Channel Info Graphic

According to The Weather Channel, the first nor’easter of the year is creeping its way up the East Coast this week, which brings with it the possibility of strong winds, heavy rain, and even some potential snow in the interior northeast. The East Coast has already dealt with a rough late summer and early fall in 2018 after Hurricane Florence decimated parts of the Carolinas with intense rain and deadly flooding.

As usual with these storms, heavy surf and coastal flooding are both things to be on the lookout for. Nor’easters can bring some insane fall surf to the East Coast as we know from previous years, but unfortunately by Saturday morning, 60 mph winds are predicted to hit Montauk, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. That means the surf will likely be blown out for the weekend, but it might be worth a trip to the beach in the following days.
