Just stay away from those Instagram computer internet models.

It is still shiny out there.

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Massive props to the operations team at the Sun Mountain. Lunchtime turns were smooth and pretty quiet, all things considered. The freshly blown snow was tilled well into the hardpack making for very edgeable/carveable turns. The solar aspect helps there a bit too. Of course the views from Gore in the west to Mt. W in the east helped on this bluebird day.

If you are considering taking a trip to the north country, the warm weather this weekend should make for spring like skiing.

I’m hoping for a second shift as a parking lot attendant so I can afford a trip to Northfield.

I don't know, Vailmont™ has foreign help taking care of it. They are the best I've seen, 1 in the center traffic lane with a 2'x2' orange flag waving and pointing. Two in the lot looking for open spots to guide drivers to. You are much taller so maybe a lot waver position could be had.

Bikes are as clean as they've been in years. Boards are waxed. Gear closet is organized and there's still no point in looking at the weather forecast. Might have to take up smoking pot or building houses or something

I went there for a Warren Miller film a few years ago. Fancy, smancy. Sits a few hundred maybe? They had a small stack stand. It's not like Higher Ground or anything like that.

NEK is right, it's awfully shiny out there still. No photo evidence, but the ice is thick enough to mostly support our 140lb Newfoundland.

Idahospud, Are you from Idaho? We're strongly considering a relocation to the Teton Valley so just wondering if you've spent time in Eastern Idaho.

I'm a Vermonter who just moved back, actually, but I spent the past 4 years living in Boise. I'll shoot you a PM.

Yeah well that is a fairly poor algorithm based off of a single model so use with caution! That said, glad to see some of the models starting to show snow again. But I'd rather see it on the ground.....

Amazing and affordable. No clubs to join. No day passes, but be ready for some climbing. 1600 vert from the lot to the top in just under 4 miles, with no breaks. Second lap about half that. Then there's the long loop. Nrthfld basically twice as steep as places like Waterbury. Trails are intermediate-ish mostly.

Wasn’t it crusty last year too? Wouldn’t be QC without that croûte.

Destroyed it. Slalomed around Woodstock Inn guests on snowshoes. Actually- I did make my first consistent alpine turns on skis in maybe 25 years, pretty great feeling. Sticking to sideways though on the big hill.
