Also, my wife had foot surgery by Dr. Herosi a few weeks ago. Nice clinic and facility. His PA is a Grade A jackhole, though.
Good luck.

"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring."
I just read this 5 minutes ago - are we talking this border by the Redoubters

or this one https://www.greateridaho.org/the-maps/
and possibly more variations too out there?
It's like your buddy dumping out a bag of weed to split. He piles all the seeds and stems into your bag and then charges you double.

LOL. Love the simile.
Conundrum, duh fuq?
I enjoy Boise very much...also like eastern Oregon. I don't really have much to add other than splitting Ore and WA into their political parts based on our current political climate is maybe the ultimate of short-sidedness.
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that
The fucking morons that want to split up states based on how political ideology makes them feel but has no real impact on their lives are the ultimate nimbys. Idiots, what happened to real freedom?
I lived in the Bay Area for 15 years and now have lived in eastern WA for 20. There’s no difference in my day to day life in regards to the general political climate. There’s idiots everywhere, always will be. /thread drift

The far far right Republican rubes (I say that with all due respect to the non-rube Rs here) want to drain our general fund to bring in a bunch of welfare ranchers and no tax base while keeping drugs and abortion as far from Boise as possible. They're just pissed that Boise isn't red hot on the political spectrum. Bundy has a bunch of supporters in Eastern Oregon and they can't handle "Portland's agenda".

What’s wrong with wanting to be surrounded by like-minded (and like/looking) people? /s

I did a little time in Boise, it reminds me of Sacramento. 2 hours from paradise in most directions. It's kinda cool, bust mostly urban sprawl with a growing homeless problem. If I had to move back to Boise I'd live someplace on the bench or close by or the north end close to hyde. Commuting to Nampa won't be awesome but better than the suburban hell of Meridian etc. Or head to Hidden Springs in Eagle if you dig the swinger scene. The food and drink scene is fine for a city, some decent music comes through town and surrounding areas. Some of the vineyards in the vicinity are pretty nice. The skiing is hit or miss, my old roommate day trips to Tamarack for better snow and less people.
Get a sitter and take the wife to Humpin Hannah's.
I’m sure the 2 million citizens of ID will have no problem paying $5-7000 each to acquire OR state-owned assets in the affected counties, and pay higher taxes to support about 325000 welfare queens.
The Weedology dispensary in Ontario OR is about 100 yards west of the border (about 45 min from Boise). Every time I’ve gone there I was the only vehicle with OR plates in a jammed parking lot of about 30 vehicles. Malheur county has the highest per-capita cannabis sales in the state. Store manager told me they wouldn’t last a week if ID legalized.

Don't the ID staties pull them over 5 mins later? Happened to me last time I went through the panhandle in an old truck.
Yup. This is the real bummer (aside from physically dividing an already divided nation based on current political climatology and all that).
The r-tahds (FWIW I'm a pretty centrist, maybe barely right-leaning individual) CAN'T DO MATH. The net result of this will be Idaho (an already poor state by most measures) becomes poorer, even worse educationally, horrendous healthcare with an already stretched rural infrastructure literally compounded while Oregon would actually become far more efficient. Idaho, who touts lower taxes and hates "socialist" states, will indeed have to raise its taxes. Oregon, with it's high income tax and all that, could theoretically LOWER it's taxes. So how is that winning again?
But that's just math and math is science and science is for witches.
"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring."
Sounds like a win for a lot of them librul Oregonians

I don't understand why a freedom loving American would want to live in a state where the guvment tells them they can't buy weed or get an abortion. Seems like it's only certain freedoms the freedumbers want.
Interesting point in the article about Orthodox Jews being welcome. According to Biblical prophesy the messiah will come (or return, depending on whether Jesus was the messiah) and everything will be peaches and cream--the good people all go to heaven, the bad all go to hell after a final battle-- when the Jewish temple is rebuilt on the site of the first two and a red heifer is sacrificed on the altar. This will mean razing Al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock. In furtherance of the prophecy ultra-Orthodox right wing Jews are planning the destruction of the mosques and rebuilding of the temple and are working with Christian American ranchers who are breeding red heifers. There is a minor difference of opinion re which group goes to heaven and which to hell but that will all be sorted out after Armageddon--no need to worry about it now. (Putting aside all the BS about heaven and hell and red heifers, one part of the prophecy rings true. If the current religious-fanatic govt of Israel were to try to destroy the mosques and rebuild the temple, there would be one hell of a battle, presumably with nukes on both sides. And then we all go to hell.)

This legislative sessions is getting entertaining, the usual crazies introducing stupid bills.
Can we just ban Idaho?

Do all threads on tgr eventually turn into just bitching and moaning about politics?
It is so easy to bitch about, so why not?
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
