FKNA, hev, you nailed so many (the ones below are ones I endorse, or have heard I should endorse, like the Reuben at Jimmy and Drews). The Kind Crippler is definitely their best beer, IMO, but it's kind of funny that it's not actually a beer they brew (for those wondering, it's a mix of two beers, Kind and XXX).

catacombs, the pub or connor o'neils for dive bar atmosphere. corner bar for more upscale drinking. the attic for a late night place. mountain sun or boulder drafthouse for really good beer.

adding to the list of food, amu sake house (next to zanmai) is fucking awesome! authentic japanese sushi, no rolls or that bullshit. but its so fucking good.

and dubbin's for late night sandwiches. its that window on pearl and 13th. the owner is a friend of mine and an awesome guy. makes a kick ass sandwich. i think hes serving soups now also. cash only, but hits the spot after a night of drinking.

How many Boulderites/CU alum we got here? Class of '04 here

i transferred out to cu fall of 2004, been here since save for two 4 month seasons at wp.

Jalino's Pizza (best pizza in CO IMO - I'm biased as I worked there ~3years)
Southern Sun (avoid Mtn Sun for reasons mentioned above)

For pizza, Jalino's uses the best ingredients and makes a tasty pie, if not an identifiable style of pie. Cosmo's is the best thin crust pie in town, IMO; definitely the place for slices.

i didn't think jalino's was very good. they use canned jalapenos! i worked at cosmos for about a year, so i'm biased there. if you want to see a the largest concentration of underage drunk idiots go there at 1am on a friday night, not dark horse

Gotcha. Wasn't aware it was a chain operation. Last time I was out there was ~7 years ago when I was headin' out the plains to do some storm chasing. I remember the Devil's Thumb Stout being pretty decent.

Walnut Brewery for burgers,

i've gotten sick from their burgers, as have friends of mine. the walnut is great, my regular spot, but i avoid the burgers. the devil's thumb is the best, especially when it's recently tapped, up there with any other american stout in the sub $10-6pack range. the pale is good as well. i've had my fair share of $2.85 happy hour liters...

Boulder is at its best in the summer. The students are gone, and the town is just hopping. You can bike everywhere on cruiser bikes on bike paths, the hiking is just awesome, climbing if you're in to that, great mt biking within a short drive, rooftop bars, it's just a fun place to be. Yeah, no skiing (or at least not unless you work hard for it ). But as much as I love skiing, if it is your absolute only consideration, you don't move to Boulder.

For cocktails, Bitter Bar is far ahead of the rest. Start the evening there with a vieux carre (or have the bartender mix you up something else... their recommendations have never steered me wrong). West End Tavern, right around the corner on Pearl, has an insane bourbon and whiskey list if you feel like doing some taste tests. And Oak at 14th also has a great cocktail program going, just a few blocks down the Mall.

Bitter bar is nifty. It's been said before elsewhere, but avoid the food at west end tavern at all costs. Went with a group of 8 one time and just about everyone had 2 or 3 bites of their food, and I ordered the most expensive thing on the menu (It was on OpenTable's bill).
