    Thanks
If you place the ski on a table ptex down and measure in a straight pull from tail to tip you will get 183. Flip the ski and let the tape follow the tip/tail curve and you will get 186.

I going to side with Rossi and their measurement thought process, I mean how many dudes measure their dick with a straight pull?

when you measure your height, do you measure from the ground to the top of your head in a straight line, or do you follow the contour of your back, legs, neck and head?

If my height mattered as much as the length of my dick/skis, I would include every contour possible

How did this thread come to this...a discussion about lengths of skis. Y'all might want to start a new thread, or let's get back to the rumor mill of new gear.

Looks like the volcano on the heelpiece has been replaced with one or two hinged pieces that flip up?

Who cares, they are Kawasaki Green.

I do think there is a bit more metal in them, but not 100% sure on that yet.

Yes. I only had a chance to glance at the binding so far, but that was the most obvious change.

I wonder if the new dynafit elevator system will interfere with the super easy pole-grip-twist method of going from tour to ski mode without stepping out?

It looks like it definitely could... on the other hand, quick switching between elevator modes would be sweet. I miss that from Naxos.

    New Praxis Wavy Gravy

I created a [ame="http://tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=211221"]Separate Thread[/ame] on this, but here's some praxis rumor milling:

Bumped into Keith this weekend at the top of Keyhole. He was field testing some new skis. Rockered? Yes. Camber? Yes. Reverse Camber? Yes. The bases are wavy. Sort of like a magna traction edge, only applied to the base. And no, they didn't have wavy sidecut.

The man himself about to drop in and test them out:

They looked like they performed well on his run. He skied it better than I did.

    Side-on view of the profile:

If you watch this Retallack movie clip on Blake Jorgenson's site you can see the 2011-12 Seth and Hellbent graphics.

    2012 gear thread on Epic
Highlights before it turned into a "is rocker dying" discussion:

    - K2 Pon2oon, much less rocker, longer flat/camber section

    - K2 new 90mm Backside ski

    - Line Prophet 105, essentially skinnier P-115

    - Line P-100 gets skinnier, 98mm

    - Volkl Gotama, less rocker, no more low profile tip, flat underfoot

    - Volkl Mantra gets small tip rocker and shape tweaks

    - Kastle FX104, new widest of FX series

    thanks stikki.
SFB's look bigger than the EP's from that angle. I really like the SFB graphic. Pandora's are ugly. sad to see P100's change, but I have a couple pairs so they will last me a while

I've seen the new Pontoon. Imagine if an original pontoon and a this year's Darkside had a baby and you pretty much get the idea. No camber underfoot on the pontoon, pretty much flat. Still some rocker in the tail, but not too much. Tail is squared off and has a notch in it, great for skins. Also coming with tip/tail holes for K2s precut skins. Dimensions get wider the longer the ski, 189 is something like 159-134-124mm. Weight was about 50g more than a 189 darkside. Graphics are pretty nice. Imagine a mashup of the old pontoon and the shanetoon. Catalog says a portion of the sales of the pontoon still going to Shane's Family.

Just took a peak at blizzards catalog They've got a ski called "Bodacious" that is 142/118/132, availiable only in a 186 and 196. 32 m turn radius and some rocker I'd bet. "The Answer" will return. A new ski called the cochise: 135/108/123 in 177,185,193 could be pretty cool as well. I'd say they are on the rise.

This ski will kill all. I'm not really sure why K2 needs this and the DarkSide, esp. since the new Pontoon isn't a "twintip", but what the hell. I'm pretty sure the pre-production version I saw was a cap ski and not hybridtech sidewall.

In other news, I thought I'd be bummed going from 189 Hellbents to 179, but I'm not. Mounted them at +4 and that seems to be the ¥¥¥¥¥ spot!!!
Putting the "core" in corporate, one turn at a time.
