Not sure if BostonJohn will want to do much more than lap the triple so may be looking for someone to venture around a bit depending on how the snow is holding up.

Just to give a heads up, not sure whats going on with the weather, but the sun has been peeking out and the temp has gone up some also.. It seems the snow is turning a little manky, but might still be good up high... The roads are almost dry....hmmmm might have to take my motorcycle out after all..lol...

Buttah (and others), I'll be there at 9, black jacket / pants, white brim w/ helmet cam, Huge Troubles.

Those 'toons look fun! I've ridden the 189's, definitely the ski to have for this stuff, at least when it's untracked.

    Thumbs up k-show today

got hiking about 9:15, a good 5-6" in bay 1 and coming down HARD. up, up, and away we went. a solid foot at the glades chair and we were amped. got to the top of FIS, clicked in and then scored a deep untracked cascade (ok 2 people got to it first but i never crossed a track ). i was impressed by the snow quality, not blower by any means but damn fine. so fine that we wanted more. up east fall and then up to the top of snowdon. another powder day brew at the top, and then down flush! im calling it 10-16" all the way down. face shots, water-bar huckin, and many sweet, sweet turns. we skied right to the car. 2 of the best laps of the year for me. skis are getting a hot wax, clothes are drying out, and the gas tank is full. see ya at jay peak tomorrow....

My car is packed, my shit is on lock and my teats are ready for a good soakin'... 90% crashing in the lot, but might be going to hang with the big man instead- not exactly sure. Either way, I'll be at Jay tomorrow a.m. ready to smash tittyballs. I will most likely be in all black, with my regular helmet and hawt orange Langes and Billy Goats with Dukes.

Oh, and I just got a call from Arewolf who's up there now getting the scoop... The mofo called me from a break mid-lap to tell me how awesome it is. Bring your fatties, this is going to be good. See you all at the first tram pow day stampede!

I went up to Wildcat to ski on that awesome looking snow, looks can be deceiving. As I was skinning up a couple of skier were complaining on their way down saying it was too heavy. Made it to about 300 ft below the summit on the Catapult trail. Skinning was easy because I followed existing tracks. But skiing down was hard because the snow was so heavy that it acted like glue.. The only way down was to get on tracks made by other skiers, and there were only one or two of those, or back on the tracks used for skinning up. It was harder to ski down than to skin up. Groomers would've been the only way to enjoy that snow today

Didn't even think of that, probably why Rob told me to meet him in a different lot. Whatever we're riding up the hill, I'll be there when it opens Looks like a stop in to visit Big D as well... Dude sounds straight miserable on the phone right now, let's be sure to send some good vibes his way- I think he needs to hear some love right now.

Fuck, I was going to stop at Dartmouth to see Dalton on my way home from Montpelier the other day, but then I got the call that my pops went to the hospital for shortness of breath, etc, so priorities kicked in (he is fine, and told me i should have stopped, but that wasn't even on my mind).

Stateside triple open along with Quad to lockers left of the tram line. Tower Bar in new base is where free lunch is.

Oh he's a vet, and he wasn't at Stowe, was he - sounds like it was stickier farther east, I believe it was raining over the border in Maine. Just passing on a firsthand report, knowledge is power.

when someone tells me that groomers are the only way to enjoy a fresh falling of snow, i stop listening. it's just an instinct.

edit: maybe it was bad... should have been less gung ho to call it out. sorry about that

    9k! Damn dude, that's lots.
I had a whole lotta fun today at Stowe as well. Only got a measly ~2350 vert, but who's counting (aside from you ) - I had fun, and that's really all that I care about. The snow down low was def. getting manky, but you know what, it's almost May, so I'm not going to complain.

Oh yea, I'll have some real pics maybe tomorrow. And mega bummed that I'm not gonna be able to make it to Jay... Oh well, life goes on.

Even had a nice time after skiing. <3 Heady Topper.

On a side note, this was my first time seriously skinning lots. And shit's not easy. Granted, the weight of my setup certainly doesn't help at all - new Goats, Barons and some heavy ass (non-AT) boots. Oh, and don't forget to add the weight of all the snow sticking to my skis....
So, anyone have any good tips for skinning or even just general hints or.. anything really?
