Macugnaga and San Domenico is getting hammered pretty hard also, so I've heard (that's like 1.5 hours from Andermatt?).

Small, trees, no freeriders... sounds like fun to me.

Do you have to put the car on the train to get to Dommodossola, or can you drive through the tunnel?

Let me know your plan. SMS me, cuz I might not be by the compooper.

ticino, dudes, ticino is hammered hard...
from brig to domodossola there is the simplon road, which is always kept as clean as possible from snow, or (in case of major snow disaster) you drive the car to the train in brig station, stay in the car while the train moves to italy and drive away in iselle, few Km fro domodossola. You can not drive in the tunnel, which, like the furka pass, is for trains only....

On a side, SLF is reporting some really sketch avi conditions that way. Any local reports on the stability?

airolo, carì, bosco gurin, splugen, even san bernardino.... you can't be wrong. But maybe the higher the better, because the snowline has been fluctuating a bit (it's quite hot right there in milan and so it can be in ticino up to sat afternoon)...
anyway, I have family committments and will drive verb sometime tomorrow...

Andermatt was waist deep today. Totally fun!Stability=ok under 30°-35°, not more... Ticino was being nuked...till Biasca. Never seen anything like that in Europe: the flakes were as big as 2 euro coins ahah
    Who's there in Alagna?

it blows my mind, we have yet to see a flake here in the tarantaise valley, and I can stare at a ridge from my window that drops into northern italy. Sometimes these mountains complexities in the weather piss me off.

we're heading towards saas fee tomorrow then work our way east sun/mon.
thought we'd play it conservative and stay in the red zone and not the purple.

Ecrins off the scale today, baws deep, and it is still coming down. The locals here haven't seen this much snow since 1992. Ditto the 30°-35° stability comment. Off to Italy tomorrow . But then home

Not that anybody here gives a shit....

been skiing down in Austria the last, what, 7 weekends. I have a 9-5 and that's all I can do. I ain't hitting the big areas but am doing what I can with Zell am See, Hintertux, SkiWelt, SkiAmade, etc........ It hasn't been that great for snow in these areas. I'm a deutschbag living in mid-bavaria so these are my targets on a friday night after work. I hit a fucking buried fence post last weekend and had to cancel my reservations at Wildschonau (yeah, I know) for this weekend. My first weekend at home for a couple months. My Italy trip is next week. My knee is fooked, but I'm going anyway to at least take pictures.

Anyway, cheers to you pukes living it up and having fun in the good stuff. Hopefully my MRI comes back negative. I've got some fun AT trips planned for the spring. Hate to break those obligations.

    Cheers,
